Can you explain to me how elections work for the Scottish parliament? And how would you reform it?

The place I don't like AI is when it tries to give me a summary of a scientific paper (that's what the abstract is for 🤦🏼♀️).

Great! We should be seeing more job adverts in the next few months because scientists in the UK NOW have difficulties getting jobs.

Just to say I used ChatGPT today that saves me time from scrolling through various websites to find the answer. It was very helpful. I don't understand why using a tool is wrong - as long as the user knows the limits of the tools one uses.

The GOP has been going down the road towards far right policies for DECADES. I understand why some will vote for them. I couldn't vote for them.
However, too many Dems don't want to reflect on the direction Dems leaders are going.
It has taken me a long time to realize no team is an ideal team.

Social media is a global thing, not just in the US. I read & follow different people from the country I am from. I know it may be shocking to think that a good way to learn is to hear/read other people's experiences.

Well, since Israel depends on US military weapons and other support, Biden should have stopped the supply to Israel. If Israel continued to bomb & destroy Palestine, start with other sanctions'& start providing military support for the Palestinians, like was being done for the Ukrainians.

Biden was funded a rogue country committed to genocide & ethnic cleansing. Israel is a country founded on terrorism, violence, and oppression of the native population.
You can only oppress people for so long before they fight back - which is their right within international law.

Many Dem voters are truly no different than the Red MAGAs with their tribal loyalty to a party. Not wanting to see the faults within the party and its leaders.
2024 US election was down to two evil parties. Some opted to vote for another party, the "lesser evil" party, or not to vote.

Biden never reached out to them as Israel bombed and killed thousands. Black community leaders were tired of the direction the Dems were going & not sure if they could continue to tell people to vote Dem. Why didn't he call out AIPAC as they sponsored candidates against brown & black Dem candidates?

Biden bypassed Congress to give money & weapons to Israel. He & his admin never pressured Israel to accept a ceasefire (or negotiations). They always blamed Hamas when the obstacle was always Israel.

You say it is easy to determine sex of a person. How do you determine it? The chromosomes, the genetics, the protein interactions, hormonal levels, anatomy, physiology, or "looks".
There are only 3% of the population that is trans or intersex. We should be accommodating THEM and not bigoted people.
comment in response to

That's right. Trans people change their anatomical appearance to their biological sex.

The fault that Dems lost is ALL on the Democratic party leadership. The messaging was so weird.
GOP = bad, but we will have them in cabinet positions.
Why vote for someone who was saying the other party was a threat? GOP voters weren't going to vote for that position.

The Dems need to EARN people's votes. Stop covering up their failure.
They assumed their base would just come out & vote for them while ignoring them. There were rumbles from community organizers that they were not happy with the Dems early 2024. I saw it. Why didn't they?

A man is NOT great if he funds, supports genocide. Biden oversaw the destruction of Palestinians & Palestine, showing the world that the US doesn't care about international laws & human rights.
The GOP is bad but to ignore the flaws of Dems makes you no different than the MAGA crowd.

There isn't enough money to sustain the academics & researchers who are in the UK NOW.🙄
comment in response to

We need RESEARCHERS...they don't have to be early in their career. Experience researchers are valuable to the research community, within labs to provide practical knowledge, the day-to-day supervision, and mentoring that ACADEMICs don't have time to do.

Have you ever heard of holding elected officials accountable? The Trump administration is just carrying on the Biden administration's policies.
Which is better - doing evil or doing evil and pretending you aren't? 🤷🏼♀️

That's right you can't get elected on your own. And if you read the room, many community organizers were saying they had enough of doing the work for the Dems and getting nothing back.
The issue with the Dem leadership is they rather give back to the donors, not the people.
comment in response to

She ran the campaign the Dem leadership the donors wanted - not the best.
comment in response to

It WAS the issue last year. If Biden wouldn't budge during an election year & Harris didn't speak out against the genocide, why would there be a difference if Harris won. The time to press politicians/leaders is when they need votes.
comment in response to
post
The exact same as Biden - give Israel weapons & military support.
comment in response to

The Dem leadership didn't want those independent voters or its traditional voters. The extremist in the Dem leadership ignore its own base for too long - at some point they just won't come out for the Dems. Blame the leadership, the donors who have too much influence over policy & the campaign.
comment in response to

Yes. The Dem leadership thought it was a winning strategy to platform Harris with Cheney. 🙄 They thought not talking about how big corporations are ripping people off was bad policy. 🙄 Their failure to actually listen to their community organizers was a HUGE fumble with horrible consequences.
comment in response to

Yes. How people feel about their own personal economics has a lot to do with US government policies. Most Western countries do not have the extremeness in wealth like the US.

Yes he did. Or did you happen to forget about the the US-backed Israeli genocide of Palestinians? He did NOTHING to stop Israel. Senior aides have admitted to this in recent reports.

Do you mean those on the left whom the Democratic party require to WIN elections, but the party leadership constantly ignores? The people on left that go out and do the hard work of knocking out doors - and yet get nothing from the Dem party?
