I will forever bristle at the notion that it doesn't. The piece I wrote for CB is very emotional for me, it contains the memories of friends now gone and how they shaped my life. A computer cannot, will not ever be able to do that.

That was definitely your personal 911

That Despy/Jun Kasai match is one of my favorites from that year, especially when you see the translation of the closing promos.

I'm interested to see if she pursues wrestling full-time again, as she left TJPW to go to school. She definitely has -something- if she sticks to it.

This is giving early 2000s club flyer vibes

This all feels like a long-term plan to have 1. MJF screw over the Hurts for FTR, giving them the belts and (semi) reuniting Pinnacle - now with Garcia 2. FTR dropping the belts to E&C by the end of summer/early fall. People will be fine with this but unless TK starts caring about young teams, 😬

Gabe makes me think Eddie is back ASAP, maybe for Anarchy.

Oh this book has to be like 20+ years old at this point. Luckily the AP doesn't move terribly fast in most cases.

Just doing some work and needed to answer questions since I don't keep up my APStyle account anymore (I'm thinking about renewing it tho).

Looking back, I wish I had gotten that one. I got the home and like it, but the away was sick as well.

Ditto. I don't have a dark US shirt so I'll prolly pick this one up, really like the look of it.

All his wounds are self-inflicted too, the cost of being so self-righteous

I think I find it more disappointing that he's going to do something he claimed he would "never" do as opposed to just doing it in the first place. The problem has never been that Punk "sold out," but that he called it selling out first then did it.

I think it was the WCW run for me. That was a weird time, as Sabu would come in for a cup of coffee then Public Enemy would show up a couple months later (and actually stuck around for a couple years, surprisingly enough).

It feels like TK is finally playing the game, being chummy with people big enough to have a voice in what I imagine could end up a nice quid pro quo. And, frankly, it kinda makes sense because TK is enough of a fan that I think he likes/respects most of these older guys *anyway*.

I still enjoy the board & some of the audio stuff enough to keep my sub around, but I can't lie the WON has been dodgy when it comes to any actual news that fans would care about (plus the price hike🙃). Dave picking apart ratings makes it feel like I'm reading a business trade pub.

I still stick around the board for posting about non-US promotions but it has been very hard to talk about anything related to WWE/AEW without the fucking cranks coming out of the woodwork. It sucks that you feel it ain't worth it anymore. You cutting your sub completely or just no more board?

I think 10 is just wrong no matter how you count it. From some digging I got: - 4x Crockett/WCW - 3x Mid South - 2x USWA - 10x Smokey Mountain - 4x post-95 NWA So unless the 10x is just a funny reference to Cornette/Smokey Mountain, I'm lost.

I'm good but thanks for the offer

The meltdown around Mania has been hilarious to watch as a bystander. Each self-inflicted wound is weirder than the last, & Rock pretending HHH ain't even there is the cherry on top of that particular sundae. Can you imagine the shitstorm if TK did something like this? We'd never hear the end of it
comment in response to post
I saw someone explain it as 'OH, that explains what HHH thought he was doing in the early 2000s, it makes so much sense now.'

It was a moment, but that's all it was, and WWE seems to really be good at hitting those moments atm but their stories are overall very bad.

That was one hell of a run-on sentence but my mind is racing right now. This is NOT the good feels for wrestling as a whole; TK is just another billionaire, but so far he hadn't tried to take over the entire industry.

I always hear it's harder for non-Japanese companies to buy into or take over JP companies, but not sure how really true that is but NOAH and Marigold seem like obvious choices. GOD, I don't want to think about them taking over all of CyberFight🙃
comment in response to post
Yeah, I figure it's that or EVOLVE in his immediate future. I hope they didn't make him take the mask off and it was his choice, tho.

I understand that sentiment. I love the promotion (I saw them live in LA a couple years ago) but sometimes the undercard on house shows gets too wacky for me. At bigger shows the comedy seems a bit more focused or subdued.

Always appreciate your write-ups, I feel like they're a well-balanced take when so many others resort to hyperbole. That being said, my eyes always have to readjust for minutes after reading the small white type on a purple background.🤣

oh good to hear!
