I absolutely could not, and to be honest still cannot, comprehend that he’s from anywhere else. I’m not sure I should examine my reasons for thinking it though…

I did know this but I was well and truly caught out by the revelation from earlier in the season that Thomas Frank is Danish and not German.

My only ever trip to Goodison was for the game which was the first after Brian Labone died, also Duncan Ferguson’s last ever game. Occasional crazy noise so god knows what it was like when Nick Barmby showed his face there.

With booing on the agenda, what is the biggest and loudest boo you have given, football or otherwise? Mine was at the then Football League chief Brian Mawhinney at the 2005 LDV Vans final while Wrexham’s ten point deduction was still raw.

Did they send Rhian Wilkinson up there for the photoshoot only to have to do so again for the squad announcement? Seems like something not in the job description when Rob Page got to go to a miner's welfare to announce his squad.

And the lion’s share of media going through two or three players put a lot of pressure on them. There were definitely people waiting for Rosie in particular to slip up.

Of course from here it was clearly advised to Rosie to simply not say anything. It would have been better to do the opposite but that isn’t really what the club does. The doc shows that; Fleur R’s departure in the doc presented with no controversy at all 🤣 not sure if the Fanzone will either #wxmafc

The witch hunt stuff isn’t that unreasonable either. So much of what was said about it was way over the top and there was something a little sinister about how swift and brutal that reaction was.

I got my most ever read bit out of the fallout 🤣 it wasn’t the greatest, and the club fouled up by not addressing it, but it seemed pretty clear to me at the time that it was someone filling with absolutely no idea what they were going to say, and all sorts can come out in those circumstances…

I’ll make sure I’ve got three or four hours put aside to see it.

If it wasn't for *him* I would also be an unashamed fan of Wetherspoon's. It's too common to go into seemingly nicer places and pay £5-6 (because that's still expensive round here) for a pint of one of the Essex boy lagers (which are fine, but not at that price).

Roanne? You don't have to put on the red light.

Still catching up on New Music Friday, with Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Sleigh Bells, James and the Cold Gun and Lucy Dacus - albums today (up to #41 and trying to work out whether it’s morally acceptable to listen to the new Arcade Fire), loads of live stuff tomorrow in Wrexham!

Thank your lucky stars/curse your ill fortune that footballers on holiday don’t dress like they did in the 80s.

Have a great time at Wembley but don't let your knees go all trembly.

It definitely went back up a notch this season too.

That hasn’t officially come out but they have posted about their promotion a few times now as if it’s done so you’d think they’ll be sorted.

While on the dole in 2000/01 I volunteered for a furniture charity and spoke to him when he offered some from his alternative therapy centre. He very kindly signed a leaving card for me when I eventually found paid employment.

In the before times I always liked the idea of a stand with strict rules on swearing/persistent standing that was dry & a stand where there was understanding that policing such things was more, ahem, relaxed. Not sure if such a thing would be practical when the place is full, maybe with Kop built.
