SCOOP — ICE employees received an email yesterday telling them the agency's warrantless arrest policy had been rescinded. It's likely part of the Trump administration's efforts to further loosen enforcement restrictions to meet the new quota of 3,000 immigration arrests per day. My report:

This morning in Detroit immigrants were detained today after showing up to their scheduled court appointments. They now face deportation. Community members quickly came to the federal courthouse to show their support. 👇

Speaking of “We’re all going to die”

For the sixth day in a row, hundreds of anti-ICE protesters are marching through downtown LA in opposition to recent immigration raids.

I can understand were it comes from, but I'm a little suspicious of any analysis more focused on who is *really* to blame for this situation than how to navigate it. There's a certain cheapness in focusing on "guilt" when you lack the power to stand in judgement.

It was obvious to anyone who slightly paid attention that he could not meet the quota of deporting 10, 12 million immigrants that he campaigned on that nonstop. And it was obvious that his deportation policy was always going to be a gigantic human tragedy (& top of the economic one).

Yesterday, I met with a 12 year old boy in Oxnard, CA. His mom and dad have been fieldworkers for over 20 years. ICE agents snatched his parents from the fields and left this boy alone with no clue when he’ll see them again. A 6th grader.

tfw you get handed a bugfix and it's actually "rebuild this feature from scratch because it does not work, has never worked, and it is not clear that the way we did any of this ever could work, even in principle"

This is about disaster capitalism. This is about heaping responsibility upon states that won't have the resources to rebuild after climate catastrophes, so that governors and municipalities will wind up making deals with billionaire devils. This is how they will create corporate fiefdoms.

Important steps towards what may end up being litigation against the immigration courts' decision to turn away members of the public and the press. They are looking for information from anyone who's been turned away (see the second post).

Zero hyperbole here And now, breaking news from r/SubredditDrama that reveals what looks very much like a concerted "protesters against ICE & cops kidnapping, beating, shooting, gassing & trampling their neighbors are the REAL violent ones" disinfo opp by Palantir www.reddit.com/r/SubredditD...

Summary: - Dude is an immigrant agricultural worker working in the US - ICE abducts and "detains" him - Private "detention" facility has him doing farmwork - So he's still an immigrant agricultural worker working in the US, but now paid only $1 a day Nobody's been convicted of a crime or anything

Every predicted consequence of the Indian Point has come true: It's forced energy bills up and increased pollution. And it was entirely driven by former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, in a pretty major decision that has flown under the radar during his mayoral race -- www.lohud.com/story/news/n...

A Los Angeles man who came to the US legally with his family to seek asylum is now separated from them as ICE agents arrested his wife and daughters at a routine immigration appointment. They went in for a regularly scheduled meeting and never came out. Instead, they were flown to San Antonio.

I was at a car wash in Culver City today that was raided twice last weekend by ICE. 25 car wash workers and 1 customer have been kidnapped over the past several days, and the whereabouts of most of them is unknown. I spoke to families of the kidnap victims: prospect.org/justice/2025...

NEW: After firing expert scientists on the CDC's vaccine advisory committee, RFK Jr. has named their replacements. The new committee contains many figures known for spreading disinformation about vaccines and COVID including Robert Malone and Martin Kulldorff. This is bad.

We feed you. They hunt us.

Pope Leo’s first US episcopal appointment, San Diego’s Bishop-designate Pham, a Vietnamese refugee, invites priests and faith leaders to “stand in solidarity”with migrants at courthouse on June 20, as they make court appearances.

The question we should ask anyone who’s considering voting for Cuomo is “would you let your daughter in Intern for him?”

Florida child welfare officers found a 17-year-old living in a shed with no food or water. They sent him to a foster home... and then reported him to ICE, whereupon he was handcuffed and shackled and marched to detention. Not only is that victimizing him again, it violates Florida's own rules.

NEW — West coast Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) staff got an email this AM telling them how to deal with ICE protests, including working for home and wearing a disguise. "We will not retreat... this is the land of the free and home of the brave." Full text of email shared w/ me:

YIKES on bikes.

Turns out the "illegal" pregnant woman was a US citizen, and she's since been hospitalized.

Maybe they really were ICE officers. Or maybe they were a band of vigilantes, arbitrarily snatching brown-looking people off the street. All eyes are now on LA, but secret police are descending upon smaller towns nationwide too. Masked and armed, they refuse to show IDs or warrants. wapo.st/4kIGFke

Uh, pardon me but...what the fuck? I keep looking for the part at the beginning where these guys signal the car to stop and they just...don't? They just ram-trap it and then point guns - and they've got the wrong car no less!
