since they are just learning what gender even is. it is further typical for them to settle on their assigned gender and overperform it until ages 8-12 or older, when they start to actually understand and figure out how they feel

at that age, “transition” just means respecting their self identity and pronouns if asked, and letting them dress how they want. the important thing is listening to them and respecting them as able to define their own identity. from what ive read, its very normal for kids at that age to explore that

both my kids expressed ambiguity over their gender between the ages of 2-4. in both cases I asked which they were and referred to them as their preference. Both reverted to their assigned gender by age 4. Older child later came out as nb around age 10, younger kid is currently 8.

I recently learned the myth that dog mouths are cleaner than human mouths comes from the fact that human bites usually are medically more serious… but thats because most human “bites” result from punching people in the mouth, forcing teeth deep into flesh. its just classified as a bite medically

yeah, as someone with a lot of chronic pain, high pain tolerance, and poor interoception, i can nearly guarantee it would still have an affect. even if i am unaware of my pain it continuously drains my energy and ruins my mood

i am super amused though that we just naturally drifted together. i have no good explanation for why we started nodding at each other - although I suspect the fact we all ended up in innocence clinic and criminal defense clinic was not coincidental. those are the most justice aligned areas of law

now though looking back i am pretty sure we all were autistic. i dunno of we were the only ones - there were four of us - but we definitely were very different from your typical law student. diagnosing someone else is always fraught but we were definitely more alike than any of our peers were to us

and the thing is, at the time, i was aware we were all different from most of the other students - less social, more awkward, and all motivated by a sense of justice rather than the lure of financial gain as a corporate lawyer. but i was not at the time aware i was autistic - i suspected, but unsure
