Nintendo is always trying to patent some basic concept to prevent competition. 😅 I don't actually care about the pricing of the switch 2 or their games, but these type of extortion tactics are exactly why I've personally boycotted Nintendo.

I'm an artist, musician, writer and programmer that's worked on many of the AI systems and actually innovated in the space 🖖.

No, on this every thing you've said is incorrect or extremely outdated lol. Opinions are fine, but you tried to correct me with incorrect information lol. Just something to keep in mind 😅.

Like the bear, I posed and rendered numerous scenes in 3D. Trained an Image gen on my renders, now I can produce similar images with different variations in scene and color at a fraction of the time it took to render a single scene. Why wouldn't I use AI?
comment in response to post
Photo-realistic is actually easier to do 😅. I have to work harder because I prefer no photo-realistic styles. Again, this is what I mean by anti AI people being behind.

Basically, I value my time 🤷
comment in response to post
Because it saves me time? I train the models I use on my work and it saves me a significant amount of time after lol. Why would I use AI to help me with my code, to save time. Why would I use a 3D printer, to save time, I mean drawing, making 3D models, writing code, I can do, it's time consuming.

Text and everything is AI generated, again, for free locally. CpmfyUI using Flux Schnell model
comment in response to post
These are all straight flux gens done locally for free lol. I use the schnell version for the permissive license.
comment in response to post
Nope, free ones also lol. All my images are generated locally using free systems. The "High End" ones are just subscription services that use the same models so you don't need an rtx 4090 to generate them lol. This is what I mean by being behind 😅. Grok for example just uses flux.
comment in response to post
AI image gen systems have resolved this a few years ago 😅. Anti AI people are a bit behind on these things. Most systems are around here now lol. AI generated image below 🖖

I'm building a bot with a smartphone for a head that will display this on the screen and use a secondary unit for LLM and Generative processing while the smartphone head displays it and takes in all the "sensory" inputs lol
comment in response to post
Ah man, I'd love to have a CNC machine right now lol. I've been working with AI for a few years a lot for image, video, voice, music, language, and programming. I'm working on a 3D printed bot now that will incorporate some of the AI tools I've made.

What's wild is that there's a significant portion of the population that can do things another significant portion of the population doesn't understand. You have people that can 3D print and program drones living with people that don't know what any of that means and thinks is futuristic nonsense.

Lol, I wish this form of denial disappeared 😅. They don't like the thing I like, it means they're incels, racist, sexist, bigots. The backlash from trying to downplay or invalidate the dislike from others in this manner creates so much unnecessary negative backlash.
comment in response to post
It tends to drive others away from the game and amplifies the perspective and opinion of those that don't like it.
comment in response to post
You shouldn't stress things like this. People tend to like what they can relate to and/or enjoy, and as long as those that can relate to and/or enjoy it outnumber those that don't, it will be successful. My advice is to stop antagonizing those that don't like the game you like.

Lol, you curate it for your specific project and use a sliding context window. I'm not saying it's easy for your average person, but it's definitely doable for a dev. I've done it, made my own personal UI that pulls from my obsidian notes vault and uses sliding context windows to pull needed context
comment in response to post
Though, I feel like an AI whisperer though due to all the things I can get the different systems to do. From audio, video, to image and language, I've made them all do some crazy stuff lol.
comment in response to post
For local it helps to set up trees for your preferred language and use a model trained for it. I do the above and have docs for the language as context. Returning full code is fine up to about 2K lines, but then you need to have it work on sections.

Sounds like GPT coding lol. I mostly have to avoid GPT for code, it's the worst at it. Local coding LLMs and Claude tend to be better by a significant margin.

Ah, it's okay. It's not always easy to understand each other. So basically, if the game didn't give the joy, sense of accomplishment, or escape the gamer was expecting or accustomed to for the time and money invested, they may consider it a waste of time and/or money.

And enjoyable time sink* lol

Yeah, it's definitely fun. My son uses Scratch to make games, I use more advanced engines. Honestly the harder part is the assets. But I made tools to help make and animate those. It's definitely worth learning what goes into game development. This way you can complain with more conviction lol.

Will definitely be nice to see the industry return to it's roots so I hope you're right.

Look, I just want to make art, music, write code, make toys and gadgets, cook and bake, hang out with my son, and spend at least 60% of the day in bed with my wife. I don't really care about anything else 😅.
comment in response to post
Oh there are plenty of those outside of the game industry! Many do require you to humble yourself a bit, but I think that helps ground you and relate to your average person better!

I mean, most chasing their passion projects typically work another job while pursuing it. Or save up and take the gamble. This used to be the way. The "safe career job" was considered selling out back then. Back in the 90 many had part time jobs or day jobs to support themselves.
comment in response to post
I miss this type of dev and player relationship/interaction so much lol. Devs used to talk with us, hangout in game, ask us what we wanted, discussed updates and changes before implementing them. Sometimes they'd play with us. It was great back in the 90s and early 00s.
comment in response to post
Sounds like a reason devs need to stop enabling these companies and work on their passion projects as indies? Which seems to be what many if not most gamers want also 😅.
comment in response to post
I'm all for opensource, so my apologies for assuming you were attempting to profit off your work and needed those sales. I release all my code under MIT licenses, so I definitely understand not needing sales if that's the case!

You can make music with Suno AI and Udio, Nvidia released a music gen system also. If you to do so locally, Meta has music gen and audio gen which will let you do sound tracks, Google has some as well and they even have a podcast generator that's fun to play with. Lots of options for royalty free.

Though in retrospect, this could probably also be used to help the blind as well 🤔. Having it describe the images on the page and read the text, and since it has the option to use speech to text or text input, I could probably update it a bit to use voice commands to go to the next page and etc.

I'm working on an LLM UI for my son and letting him help a bit to try and encourage him to read and learn. This is a work in progress, but the goal is to have him upload e books, have it display the text of the page he's on, and highlight the words as it reads it to him so he can read along.

These threads are popping up because games are flopping and studios are being shut down though 😅, so it really really is 🤷. Again, these threads are popping up because the industry just went through another massive rounds of layoffs and several studios closing.

This approach will also help you design and make your own custom blender scripts. I have a model specifically for this I use.
comment in response to post
LLMs 😅 Seriously, think of what you want to make, tell the LLM what you to make converse with it when you run into issues. Claude, GPT, Google, Meta, or run your own locally with Blender guides and docs loaded in. It's a tutorial you can interact with essentially at that point.

Not everything has to be multiplayer, and the modding community can add in multiplayer if it's truly wanted for a single player game.

Look Ultima Online was amazing 😝. I played it for 11 years. I still contemplate going back every so often because it's still up and running. If I ever make an MMO, it's going to be the template lol. The devs used to hop in game and run live events in character. I had a library in my house!

Discuss that with the person I replied to lol, they're the one that tried blaming it on "idiots complaining about "woke" due to female leads in games" I paraphrases obviously, but yeah, definitely discuss that with the person I replied to 😅.
comment in response to post
I'm just responding to what you posted. If you didn't feel it belonged, im uncertain why you posted it? Again, I replied to what you posted... I didn't introduce the concept of "woke" or "DEI", you did 😅.
