I play bass guitar but will also play electric guitar if asked nicely.

Can you just slide in there and say “yeah, I’m Mike, but my friends call me Tim…” because it will probably take some time before anyone notices…

“… trying … to appreciate music that I don't understand…”
Same. I have a (long!!) list of artists whose work I haven’t fully explored. I decided to challenge what I think I know. I’m not trying to force myself to love anything and I don’t view it as a waste of time. I’m mostly enjoying the process!

The best two-drummer band to ever do it.

Ha yes another weird unicorn. I briefly worked at a small business that had one. What a strange idea. It took what felt like a long time to switch between TV & Mac, right? I didn't use it much but I have that memory. At least it was a Sony Trinitron!!

Yikes. I worked at a place that got a 20th Anniversary Mac just to see what the fuss was and within six months it was the office MP3 player.

Hey now. Okay okay Objectively yes ALW drives me crazy. But Subjectively I LOVE the first half of the movie soundtrack. I prefer it over the London cast rec. Such wild early '70s "rock opera" vibes. The band cooks and Carl Anderson is FIERCE. The film itself is, umm, terrible!

Okay but I feel like “Hold Steady with The War On Drugs” is not only outdated but a debunked strategy as well.

“Miracles” and “With Your Love” are two Marty Balin greats. I can’t tell if they are silly or cool as hell.

This is allowed if no one is close enough to be inconvenienced by the action. I think a 2-mile radius is enough.

Oof the first 20-ish seconds of the opening music is approaching “demonic choice” … I may have to check this out!

May have to tune in for “Suddenly” which is of course one of the best pop ballads out there.

Reminds me of Jim Fixx who kind of evangelized running-for-exercise and then had a heart attack (at 52) while out jogging. (RIP Mr Fixx no disrespect)

My parents took me to Conan the Barbarian when I was 13. I have no idea why, and I don’t think any of us was comfortable with the orgy scene.
