What alternatives have they proposed other than DOE and the States running it. They donāt even have a functioning model in particular they can point to at the state level (bc no state solely works with charter/private etc. schools)

Fair enough. Iām not against restructuring the DOEāas long as Congress doesnāt vote to dismantle it. But using the state model by default isnāt the only option. They could build something newāthey just donāt.
