One of the best USSC cases is 'Michigan v. Sitz'. Michigan State Police grabbed a guy from Louisiana (had a warrant but LA wouldn't give him up), kidnapped him, and dragged him to MI. The court said, "Snatching you was illegal but as long as you appear in court you're subject to its authority".

Bravo.

Hahaha. I get to see them tonight and then again on Sunday.

Saw Joan Jett open for Alanis Morisette and left after her set with the Blackhearts ended.

In the scene where Antony runs into the forum and sees Caesar dying, Antony then gives one of the all-time classic looks to the conspirators that I'd describe as "don't worry; you'll get yours". I think it's my favorite scene from what was a classic show.

There is historical precedent for this. It was tried once before, by McNamara and his "whiz kids". I seem to recall it was an unqualified success at all levels. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whiz_Ki...

Perhaps I’m biased because I’m Gen X but it seems like my generation got passed over and we went straight from Boomers to Zoomertarians or whatever they’re called now. Or, did we get our chance at the top and I just missed it?

Good question, but not hard to see why. I was an Ivy League legacy, took one look at the specific school, said "no, thanks," and went to a state school in a different state. I've never regretted the choice.

I find it is caffeine, nicotine, and spite which gets me through my day.

I’m firmly convinced people who sit on HOA boards are those who’ve been (or feel they’ve been) screwed over their entire lives and see it as finally having the opportunity to “do unto others”. It’s a perfect example of how power corrupts.

Wait. It isn’t already? You mean advertisements can actually get both more inane and less relevant than they are now?

If I had to guess I’d say Zelenskyy probably wants his entire country back - a not unreasonable request.

You should wear full plates of your gut sticks out that much. Just sayin’….

Now imagine the stress if he had to deal with driving in DC rush-hour traffic instead of having a 20-agent PRS detail take him everywhere.

I've come very close to buying this book on several occasions. It's settled; I'm ordering it tonight when I get home.

Hahaha. Very cool. I get to see them next weekend in Tampa.

You're right for posting this; many people are in for a big surprise. As a note, when I was in South Africa the USG kept an FCS (Foreign Commercial Service) presence in-country solely due to the amount of agricultural products (fruit, primarily) shipped to the US from there. It was eye opening.

Gotta love a DOS shout out: Bringing you the Big "D" in "DIME" since 1789. Thanks for this.

Hahahaha. Good for you. I plan on buying a ridiculous car when I retire. The type of car in question is also a Porsche; a 1970s-era 914. It’ll be perfect for backwoods drives along the lake with the top off (weather permitting).

But, if I’m not yelling more loudly than you are how can I convince you you’re wrong and I’m right? Next, “they” will take away typing in all caps. Where will the Internet be, then?

Sounds like they moved the race to Florida this year and are driving it on I-95.

I guess the iPhone 17 I buy this Fall is going to be even pricier. Sigh.

125,000lbs of explosives divided by 1,500 ISIS fighters is 83.33lbs of bombs per fighter. Was it enough? Did we win?

Yeah, yeah, I’ll know we’re actually serious about the topic when we’ve invented the GNK:

I go back and forth. Bought it. Didn’t read it. Put in a “take a book, leave a book” at work. Saw a couple of good posts about it recently. Decided to grab it back and read it. Might leave it back at work though.

I stayed home all day and avoided any human interaction until I went out for dinner where I tipped 50%.
