I prefer ones that use an app compared to the one I have that came with NO INSTRUCTIONS, not even online. It can be programmed but it’s a nightmare of trial and error to get it set up close to right. And if we lose power it loses the program.

Looks like it has lots of possibilities. And lots of space!

I work hard to be as inclusive and supportive of all my students as I can.

This is why I address my classes by what I’m teaching. It seems weird to go “good morning Anatomy “ at the beginning of class but it’s inclusive and helps remind me which class I’m in.

That sounds rough. I understand and hope you feel better soon.

Just wait a day or two and our Fearful “ Leader” will issue an executive tweet changing the tariffs.

I always have a week or two of “the crazies” after a semester ends. I keep feeling like there’s something I need to be doing. It takes time to adjust.
The puppy probably won’t help.

I knew someone who lived in an HOA neighborhood but was grandfathered OUT. After multiple problems with the HOA she painted her house bright pink. Since she wasn’t officially in the HOA they had no recourse.

I don’t mind small numbers of invertebrates, except ants. We have invasive Argentine ants. They’re the worst.

It took me a minute but (correct me if I’m wrong) I think you are referring to INFECTIOUS “buggies” like viruses rather than miniature house pets like my cellar spiders.

Thought provoking exercise. I have more questions now…
I wonder how/if the answers would differ if this was done with different groups of people (thinking of people at the other end of the political spectrum). And how closely a person’s answers would match their actions.

Am Scope make a good, cheap option for home microscopes. I have one and it’s been a lot of fun.
( also excellent for those of us with older eyes trying to take splinters out of our fingers)

Nice. Looks like there might be a pretty pattern on the body.

Yes, still cheating. But LLMs use multiple sources so you can’t find one source that is a word for word match. So TECHNICALLY not plagiarism.
Colleges require proof of cheating. Using LLM is like hiring someone else to do your work and it’s harder to prove.

Yup. No more at home assignments. Everything must be done in class.

Ah but using “AI” isn’t plagiarism. To prove a charge of plagiarism you have to provide the source. You can’t always do that with “AI”.

AAA used to make trip packets. My first cross country drive I got one of these. They had planned a route and included information like long stretches without gas stations, toll roads, and construction.
I, too, am an Ancient.

I had a dog accomplish two of these at once. Jasper wasn’t sticky but he was very proud to show me the skunk he killed in the backyard.

I understand your feelings and I hope you can get to a better mental place.

Same. I have one that’s even eating the leaves on my tomato plants! It limits my plant choices. There’s a reason the area I live in is called the Conejo Valley.
(Conejo is Spanish for rabbit)

I had this experience, too. A bunch of students put down the same, very weird, wrong answer. I plugged the question into Google and it came up in the “AI summary”

Every time my iPad updates I have to tell it, no, I don’t want to set up Face ID, no, I don’t want to use a passcode (each one asking if I’m sure).
I only use it at home for piddling around.

We’ve supposedly banned gas powered leaf blowers in our state. I still hear them 7 days a week.
