So I’m really glad that the Government are undertaking a review into what barriers are stopping young people from being able to access outdoor education. It’s so important that every child in our country has this life-changing opportunity.

Now the Government must finally get serious about investing in renewable energy jobs in Cumbria. If ministers truly care about growth and the environment then they must invest in tidal projects in the west coast of Cumbria and Morecambe Bay where there is huge untapped potential

There is a complete lack of joined up thinking here between government agencies. The idea that leaving our historic landscapes unmanaged is somehow beneficial to the environment was always nonsense and the wildfires remind us that it’s dangerous nonsense.
