One maths, one further maths for us. We very rarely do shared classes and it’ll only be due to ECTs or part-time staff requirements

Yes I’m not going to suggest Amazon at all I think. It’s a real minefield of issues sadly

No idea! Personally I’m surprised some bootlegger has actually managed to make the CW worse! 😜

That would be my eventual plan yes, but if it’s going to cause problems I’ll do a “New Teaching Order” section. No probs 😎

They’re not A-Level Maths!

Chucking it completely up in the air for Sep 2026 - feel free to take a look! Lots of purposeful spacing and getting FM prereqs done early. bsky.app/profile/tlma...

To be fair, AQA Physics has been hit the last three years with challenges, but AQA Maths has been great. It’s a real mixed bag *within* the exam boards. I do wonder how often exam writers look at the specification though to check what’s in it!!

It’s only the questions as my videos do the teaching part. All the questions have fully worked solutions so you can check your method. If this isn’t what you’re looking for, you may want to give the blue CGP textbook a try, or go with the AQA own-brand?

Thank you Rob! It’s been quite an undertaking, particularly with how the exam boards can’t agree on what should be taught and where things should go!

We have a 7 at GCSE Maths + 5.5 GCSE average on their top 8. So not specifically GCSE English

If they ever decide that only one exam board can do each A-Level, and Edexcel gets Maths, I’m outta here! 🤣

Students have said they’ve felt that both papers were slightly harder than last year, so I’d expect a slight drop in boundaries but not by much. I quite like a return to near 90% for the A*

Still surprises me that’s it’s the most popular exam board for A-Level Maths. To be fair, I’ve disliked Edexcel way before this latest fiasco - my eyes just can’t deal with the shear amount of text they put on one page - much prefer AQA’s spacing out the questions, so much easier to deal with

I always felt it made Edexcel feel like they were treating Stats + Mech like an afterthought. OCR MEI is the only board that really got into the spirit of the new spec deciding to mix Pure and Applied questions together

Sounds like a terrible level of laziness on Edexcel’s part.

Yes! Sadly I won’t be able to try it out next year, as not teaching FM. Hopefully people like it!

Very much agreed. It doesn’t lend itself to the exam setting

Yes, I’m not a fan. One year in old spec is was about cricket and you had an advantage if you knew its scoring system already. Many of my students didn’t have a clue

We do MEI for FM, but AQA for M

It has a comprehension section in paper 3 that’s smaller than it used to be in the old spec. I like how paper 1&2 mixes pure and applied though

AQA for A-Level Maths
OCR B (MEI) for A-Level Further Maths
