I think that's why it was so important for Bibi to get the JCPOA torn up.

That's how you bluesky.

How can you present "white" as a coherent identity? And are the really fun bits all the systemic benefits of racism?

It would be a very Iran response to dole out repercussions asynchronously over the next 2-10 years.

For solutions to the problem of declining birthrates the nation turns its eyes to the people who don't understand the problem, can't conceptualize a solution and are constantly wrong about everything.

It's like watching a cat walk across a piano and launching into an exegesis about Schoenberg's possible influence on the piece. That's not what's going on here.

Funny to me how many journalists kowtow to Trump in fear of getting called out like this when it is so transparently a badge of honor.

Here's another thing Democrats are doing: bsky.app/profile/demo...

This is lame, but I'd also say it probably hits perfect for some group of people and so I don't care.

Giving Trump what he wants is a bad strategy if you expect him to deliver on his end of the bargain, but it's also the first step in playing him.

If he wins the primary, Cuomo's entire future political career will be built on how miserable he makes the people of New York during his tenure. He will absolutely be running in 2028 on "I whipped New York City into shape after the radical left burned it to the ground!"

I should have to compete only against exact dopplegangers or else it's not fair.

7 year olds have serious psychological and physical advantages. Yes, they're not as strong. But they have no fear of death and falls for them are nothing because they're made of rubber.

Might be relevant that beg bugs would survive a nuclear war.

Like, I get what Bibi is doing. Direct war with Iran is his route to staying out of prison. But Trump... he's just blundering into a wasp's nest because he thinks it'll look good on Fox News.

Wait out the bombings and take revenge over time.

No one is easier to manipulate than reflexively contrarian men.

It is insane to me that the main benefactors of that hashtag were the people who openly want to do what Bibi did in Gaza to people living in America.

Ah, but can you prove he's *not* MS-13.

For the record, that's exactly how they sold the Iraq wars and the Afghanistan war.

Everyone wants to act like Trump is sui generis when there's a straight line plot through all Republican Presidents since Nixon.

You need only listen to about 10 minutes of Joe Rogan to understand that these people voted for Trump to spite all the people telling them that voting for Trump was stupid. "You can't tell *me* what to do!" I don't know what the answer is to the irrationality of the American voter.

The number of people who were fooled into voting against their own stated interests in vanishingly small. For the most part, they were sufficiently informed before the election to know that voting for Trump was the wrong choice. All these people knowingly made "the wrong choice" on purpose.

They think we are stupid.

Republicans know in their heart that the law is only for outgroups.

This reasoning makes perfect sense to a plurality of Americans.

imagine looking at the past 6 months before this and thinking "this policy is restrained by concern about public opinion"

What the heck is he even talking about?

Trump using a meaningless phrase like "the highest level nuclear weapon" confirms to me that his advisors think everything is a video game.

Well, he died in a ditch because he was totally insane.

You can see the rationale that (reasonably) lays Oct. 7 on Iran's door and says "this for that" but Oct. 7 wasn't the "start" of anything.

OK, but Bush *is* the reason we're here. No Dubya, no Trump.

If Republicans could be honest: "Why we must keep bombing Iran every day for the next 20 years"

Similarly, since Imperialism is always extractive, it is a zero-sum game. It can't deliver more benefit than it extracts.

The problem with the scenario is that it posits an entity which can deliver on those outsized promises. There's an interesting frisson there, which is what I am trying to point out. The historical problem with fascism is that, unlike the aliens, it does not deliver. It never does and it cannot.

Isn't it weird how 40+ years of American anger about US troops fighting foreign wars in the ME has only empowered the people who like fighting foreign wars in the ME.

When Putin's Russia has put more effort into building a justification for their war of aggression than the United States does.

as a reminder, the conversation started as "what if super-powered space aliens could eliminate disease, poverty and provide broad quality of life improvements"
