Four other countries already have that arrangement so I don't think that will be any kind of brake on the process. For all the performance it just guarantees RAF Marham gets upgraded as a target worthy of several Russian missiles.

Hi Zack would you not agree that Labour's playbook is to set up Reform as the big enemy so they can say to Lib Dem voters and Green voters, Vote Labour or get Nigel? We need to be careful not to be led into that framing.

Ignore the headlines about the nukes, it's just noise and mostly nonsense. The F35A's give the RAF a significant capability in a conventional role.

Its not about trust, the bombs will be owned and controlled by the US. There is no independent control of the bombs and they will not supplement our independent nuclear deterrent.

This is not an expansion of Britains nuclear deterrent, it's the storage of a few #US owned bombs. That will deter exactly nobody. It can only be part of the UK's deterrent if we can threaten their use, which we can't.

Great summary Zack. The result of this is the #uk has massive amounts of money tied up in housing property, some estimates say 9 Trillion. Anything not mortgaged is not being invested in the wider economy. Also most of this is inflation is unearned income. ie: untaxed. A subsidy for owners.

essentially I agree, but i’d probably say a modest amount of political, military and economic power. We are certainly not a world power however much the nostalgic imperialists might want us to be.

Policy of the populist. Save £100 now to incur a £1,000,000 liability in 10 years.

Meanwhile back in Britain, #ukGov orders an immediate review into whether to consider to launch an inquiry as to whether we should think about the possibility of replacing the missiles we've given to #ukraine. answer expected sometime in the 2040sšŸ˜‰
