After the last few weeks highlighting decades of mismanagement by the organization leading to the recent embarrassment, the involvement of US Soccer is not encouraging.

Thanks! This is a bit tongue in cheek. I do have lots of great friends, I've not really enjoyed the moniker of best friend since childhood.

As a Husker grad in KC, he's one that my wife and I still wonder about. Can you imagine a world where Bubba saves Bo Pelini's job in because he was that good? I wrote about him a bunch back when I was sports blogging. I'm glad he's living his best life right now, we all have what ifs in our lives.

Was putting together computers working 60+hrs for weeks, saving up for next college semester. I wanted my birthday off because my girlfriend (now wife) was in town so we could go to all day show in council bluffs. They said no, so I quit. Nobody did that there before, they didn't know what to do.

I created private Twitter lists like sports, weather, news, etc. It's all less than half as good as it used to be. The information gaps are drastic now. With weather especially, I used to have a good grasp when storms were going to impact me, but I had to actually turn on OTA TV for info yesterday.

Dear ActBlue donor, Today, I'm writing to ask for your support. We're just $1,800 away from our goal. And with your help, we can send a plane with a banner including a mild insult to fly over Mar A Lago. Even just $20 helps! Thank you for your support in changing the world. To donate, click here.

Yep, all good. Just being a pedantic reply bro, sorry about that.

The article is slightly incorrect, she's competing for Miss Maine USA, winners compete at Miss USA. It's not associated with the Miss America organization. She's quoted saying the correct thing, but the title and first paragraph are wrong. But I support his supporting her, that's cool.

I just love watching my kids play sports, and for my eldest, I'm happy to pay more to get a whole team of kids like him who want to strive, improve, and play at a higher level. I still may coach the occasional team for my youngest if the need arises, but I'm not sure my heart's in it like before.

Many leagues don't care about improving, listening to concerns from coaches or parents. Parents complain to me thinking I have influence on the situation (I don't). Refereeing is minimally adequate about half the time. And don't get me started on people dominating rec leagues to boost their ego.

I've had similar conversations with folks who ask how I appear to have my stuff all together and know what to do. It's based on the crushing anxiety of wondering if I made a wrong choice amongst thousands of decisions that led me to the present and then worrying about whatever the next one is.

Absolutely love paint dot net. I've been able to accomplish some things that feel like magic with that tool.

I'm inclined to believe the Pelini brothers are somehow involved in a conspiracy for them to beat Nebraska

They have photo ID (you can use any photo, not just camera capture) and sound ID. The sound ID is really accurate.

I have only Merlin. I didn't know this existed, so I might give it a try this weekend. Also, I'm getting pretty good with my Audubon bird call. Finches and sparrows in the backyard sometimes respond to my chirps. I think I'm best at American Goldfinch.

I understand repetition taking the joy out of some events. But with flying, for some reason I'm more like Ben here. I used to fly the same route at least monthly for years and still would practically press my nose against the glass during the trip.

Takeoff, landing, and a stretch somewhere in the middle, no matter the hour, I'm looking at the world from a perspective very few people actually see. So why not experience the joy and wonder of it. I always am curious what makes people shut the shade

As someone who loves winter a lot, I guess I'll check out the blog around November when it gets cold again (maybe when it looks like thunder storm chances, too)
