It's wild how inconsistent Nintendo is about putting Diddy Kong in the core Mario cast. amiibo, theme park merch, Smash? He's always added right after the main group. Cast lineups and spinoff games? Very inconsistent. Took them 9 years to add him to Mario Kart 8 and he was immediately cut in World.
