Great news for punters and performers in Swansea 👇 swanseabaynews.com/2025/06/18/m...

My Swansea neighbour, Tonia Antoniazzi, deserves huge credit for today’s vote to decriminalise abortions after 24 weeks - women involved in desperate situations need care not courts www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Doorknocking and case work collecting this morning around the Brunswick (which is looking for a new landlord if running a lovely pub with a popular quiz is your next career move)

These people are not serious about the future of Wales. It was good to call out the garbage being peddled on #bbcaq last night in Merthyr.

This is a total lie. I have seen every constituent who has asked to meet on this issue, and offered any constituents representing this group a meeting several times. If any constituents want to meet on this, or any other issue, please do get in touch.

It’s actually bigger than the affordable homes investment by the last Labour government because it’s sustained (rather than a short term package in response to the financial crisis)

This is a long overdue change to the law in Wales and England. We also need to build the homes, and deliver support services, to tackle homelessness itself www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

£445m investment in Welsh railways to be announced. Two Labour governments working together and delivering for Wales www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Martin Wolf: “British pension policy is finally stepping in the right direction”. He’a not wrong. www.ft.com/content/34d4...

We’re ending austerity - the chart

Happy National Fish and Chip Day! Who does the best fish and chips in Swansea? Hiks are a top contender, with great staff serving great food. Sandra, Ashley and Louise, have together racked up an amazing 33 years serving up some of the best fish and chips in town.

Hundreds have contacted with concerns for Deirdre Murphy’s welfare — concerns I fully share. I'm pleased to see national media drawing more attention to this situation. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I’m excited! Are you excited?! 🥳 #pensions #actuary

The big, beautiful (pensions) bill has been introduced to the @houseofcommons.parliament.uk this afternoon

No - Free School Meals are classed as income in HBAI stats. So lifting children out of hunger and poverty

Free school meals to be extended to 500,000 more children in England, learning from Wales where there are universal free school meals in primary schools. Wales will get matching funding - which could be used to further extend free school meals www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Labour isn’t aping austerity. We’re ending it.

I am aware of reports that one of my constituents, a 70-year-old woman, has been arrested by the Israeli authorities. I am in touch with the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office and am monitoring the situation closely. Thank you to everyone who has contacted me about it.

❤️ Swansea Bay Parkrun

Rocking a ‘drenched to the bone’ look door-knocking off Townhill Road and at Uplands market this morning #neverttusttheforecast

Thanks to everyone who came along to today's surgery in Swansea. I hold these regularly around the city - if there's an issue I can support you with and you want to come along, just email [email protected]

What’s better than writing about the disgraceful failure to build any reservoirs over the past three decades? Getting some built. Great stuff from @emmahardymp.bsky.social and Steve Reed today www.gov.uk/government/n...

Great news to see us follow Aus and Canada by doing this, and a very important step in rebuilding this country whilst improving the future for us all heading into retirement.

We need bigger, better pension funds delivering better returns to savers and stronger growth for Britain. A key plank of our pension reform agenda is accelerating the consolidation of pension schemes into £25bn+ ‘mega funds’ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Impressive positivity from @chrisgiles.ft.com - with a great chart showing that @oecd-ocde.bsky.social predictions that ageing societies would automatically feed through into plummeting employment rates were very wide of the mark

Pleased to see this issue getting some of the attention it deserves👇 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Man of the people? Sorry Nigel, but we've heard that one before.

On Friday, I met with the Chair and CEO of @thewelshrugbyunion.bsky.social alongside MPs whose constituencies have strong links to @ospreysofficial.bsky.social and Scarlets. We have serious concerns about recent developments in the regional game - read our full statement here.

Welcome news, showing that those who oppose our pension reforms by saying there aren’t the UK projects to invest in are talking nonsense www.ft.com/content/ebba...

Friday evening out talking to residents in Sandfields. And if we missed you, fear not. It’s always easy to get in touch: [email protected]

Lovely to meet so many of the good people of Penlan at my coffee morning last week. It was important to hear about the problems in the area, but also about what people really love about their neighbourhood and about Swansea.

You cannot have a failing state and a growing economy. The Tories taxed British businesses by running down the NHS and taking police off the beat - and they're still talking the country down. Labour is backing British business and getting the economy moving again.

This is staggering. Real wages have grown more in the first 10 months of this Labour government than during the first ten years of Tory governments since 2010. And not one apology from Conservative MPs for the mess they left us in today - shameful.

Clubs, fans and communities need answers - and a fair way forward - after the Welsh Rugby Union's statement 👇

Debate on fishing needs to start from some facts. What has done huge damage to the UK fishing industry? The Tories’ Brexit deal - which risked knocking a staggering 30% off fishing output by creating huge barriers for a sector dependent on exporting to the EU
