Correction. Picture was Friday, saw the protestors yesterday; the weather sucked here, the protesters stood in the rain.

Four layers typically and yes I do abstract out my integrations (db, message queues, apis). I'm not a fan of vertical slice because I find it hard to abstract out my integrations. I don't do Repositories because of all the baggage that comes with, but you will see "Store" objects, which are similar.

That Incubus song isn't a cover is it? they just share the same song title. The lyrics are different from what I remember aren't they?

Yeah, it's mostly regret. Especially the chains, they're fully enshitified.

Have you ever used DTC? MSMQ's transactional capabilities? The outbox pattern is a good thing even if it's a (seemingly) archaic mechanism. I've experienced way less issues with message queues doing the transactions myself.

Ugh... One of your fellow devs got ahold of GhostDoc. It's so worthless. Years ago I think Resharper warned about not including xml comments for public methods of a class so the "geniuses" on my team at the time let that rule stand, got GhostDoc, and went to !@#$%ing town. 🤬

Awesome game. Of all the SNES games I’d love to have a go at the Mario Bros title that came with the system. Super Mario World? Can’t remember the exact name… Good memories.

Everyone's best thinking is done away from the screen. I always just pace around the house looking "Angy" as my daughter calls it.

I have an old system at an old company that used the Windows Workflow (remember that guy?!?) rules engine and I heard it sold as an AI tool the other day…

So great. There were two Zeppelin boxed sets, I had both of them before I even had the actual album PG. The 2nd box set of the "other" Zeppelin songs had this song and it was definitely one of the reasons I like the "other" songs boxed set better.
