This is so pretty 😍 #Swift #SwiftLang

OMG, yes please!

If I say β€œholy shit, people are mad about that blog post,” does everybody know which one I’m talking about?

TIL ExUnit has an assert/2, where you can provide a message to show if the assertion fails! This makes communicating intent of tests so much easier. h/t @richardtaylor.dev who used this in our codebase, never seen it before! hexdocs.pm/ex_unit/1.12...

It's that time of year again: Stack Overflow survey! Do your part and represent your community! #ElixirLang stackoverflow.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

One of y’all should go write #ElixirLang at Apple. https://jobs.apple.com/en-us/details/200604960/sr-software-engineer-elixir-environmental-systems?team=SFTWR #ElixirJobs

This is gonna be great. I am extremely excited for both the official JS type definitions and the collocated hooks.

TIL that SmartRent forked the #ElixirLang Styler project to actually make it configurable. Quokka is the Credo-but-just-fix-it-for-me that I've wanted for 6 years of doing Elixir. 😍 😍 😍

Why won't my coworkers approve my PR??

If you do stuff in Elixir, Erlang, Gleam, AtomVM or adjacently. You can just ASK to be on BEAM Radio (https://beamrad.io). We do reach out to people but very few people ask. Only the spammers in my inbox. We want to show more of what happens in the ecosystem so don't be shy :) #elixirlang #erlang

Two interesting things to note: - The overwhelming majority of poll respondents on both Twitter and Mastodon say they'd read it, but the overwhelming majority of replies on all 3 sites say they wouldn't - As I've always found, people on Mastodon have higher rates of self-reported conscientiousness

@brainlid.bsky.social I’m seeing an issue with the latest episode of @thinkingelixir.com… it cuts off at 25:00, in the middle of David describing a DAG. πŸ€”

You're working on a new feature while trying to navigate around a new codebase. You come across an unfamiliar module with a large (~50 lines) moduledoc. Do you: 1. Read it, or 2. Speed past it so you can get on with your life?

Really enjoyed introducing hexdocs.pm/phoenix_sync at @elixirconf.bsky.social this week. So many cool projects in the Elixir ecosystem right now, like hologram.page, github.com/software-man..., tidewave.ai, hexdocs.pm/ash_ai and the incredible 🀯 phoenix.new β€” get on the waitlist as soon as you can.

And we thought there will not be any more jobs for software developers vibecodefixers.com

Elixir 1.19 updates at #ElixirConfEU #ElixirLang

old but gold. #elixirlang

Jason is spot-on here. One place to look is your interview process, and whether it's testing for what you think it's testing. An exercise I like is having a current employee go through one of the stages (as though they were a candidate) to see whether the interview stage itself is useful.

Finally got around to testing LiveDebugger, and I'm soo impressed! 🀯 πŸ‘‰ www.elixirstreams.com/tips/a-quick... #ElixirLang #PhoenixFramework

Proposal for a new convention for referring to #ElixirLang functions when you absolutely can't be bothered to count its arity: MyModule.my_fun/???

Being a professional programmer means becoming just incredibly well acquainted with your own fallibility.

I've just released Handoff, a new Elixir library for distributed function graph execution. hexdocs.pm/handoff Among other things, the library enables distributed Nx computations (anyone said distributed inference?) A huge part of this was sponsored by tvlabs.ai!

I’ve been doing this for…11 years now? 2020-2021 was an absolutely bizarre anomaly. I was regularly (multiple times a day) getting recruiter inbound for 300k+ jobs at fresh startups. Just bizarroland. 6-8 months later nearly all those companies were shuttered.
