75 miles / 120km in, and despite starting and ending most days with wet feet I seem to remain immune to blisters, I’m sure those words won’t come back to bite me as I head up to cross the Cheviots

Nope, funky diagonal walking pole tent ftw! You can see it quite clearly when you look at it, looks like it’s been put up wonky!

( durstongear.com/products/x-m... ) for the curious, with these for poles ( durstongear.com/products/ice... ) - absolutely great

(There are pubs and shops en route, so no need to carry every calorie I need m)

Good distance that - I often end up in Arrowe park myself, you can end up in the fields surrounding it too which is nice

My last set of ghosts only cost 90 quid (which is at least less than the standard 140..)

I use therunningoutlet.co.uk a fair bit for running gear, it's hit and miss as to what they have, but it's often a lot cheaper than in store/direct

That they certainly are - I use Ghosts and rely heavily on the padding to protect me from the constant impact, you can always tell when it's gone because my achilles start playing up! I use online discount/outlet stores to find the previous generation as that often knocks 40 quid off.

I don't keep most of my running shoes past 500 miles! It's a new pair four times a year at least

I will reward myself with some mid-tier golf clubs once I've progressed to being capable of showing up at a 18 hole course and not worry about annoying whoever inevitably gets paired with me at the tee

so it's not even Buy To Win, it's just Buy.
comment in response to post
I'll happily Pay To Win where that is how you Win (see also: my over the top coffee setup, which I bought outright before I had learned anything because it is simply how you avoid endless disappointment) - but with golf it'll get you knowhere unless you're already actually good

I'm not even that fussed about being good at Golf anyway, I just want to be able to bash a ball around a course with my dad and go for a few pints afterwards. What do I care beyond having a swing that doesn't injure me or the golf course beyond repair?

(That's known as being a 'buy-hard' by the way).

Notleastofall a few years ago it rained and the main field was then destroyed and out of use for 2+ *years*

Not London, but my local park is absolutely fenced off for 28 days a year for a few days long event and I do think that it is a disgraceful use of public land. They are allowed a few days and then get around the rules because “clearly this is all necessary”. I hope the backlash comes up here too.

Bought it so long ago that I can’t even look up what I actually use - safe to say it doesn’t really matter? Everybody has their own preference as to what is annoying or not. I like to be evenly loaded front and back and it to be tight so no jiggle
comment in response to post
I use one with two soft flasks on the front and mandatory stuff in the back - phone usually goes in the back as I don’t need it, or it goes in a waterproof pouch and sits in a front pocket, but tight so it doesn’t bounce

I’m loving that nearly none of the songs are English this year

It is a processing method for coffee, that coffee roaster just happens to sell sweaters with the processing methods on them haha - this is a classic example of the genre (fucking abomination it is) mygodshot.com/product/dak-...
