Wow, I am not surprised it's beautiful inside. But I didn't realize there was a colonnade inside.
Definitely waiting in the line to get inside if Mrs. ENUD & I ever get back.
We just took pictures outside on our honeymoon 10y ago.

Would be funny if upon taking office, Mamdani commissioned a Housing & Infrastructure Study to investigate how NYC could solve its housing crisis.

We could probably do it ourselves. Might-could piggyback off @cycling.city 's Website.

I will note again here, as I have many times, that the people who show up at public meetings will always be overwhelmingly those opposed to change. This is true in every city and for every issue related to development, transportation, and renters.

This is a good example of:
Everyone deserves to be heard.
Not everyone deserves to have their ideas implemented.
Credit to: @jerewoo.bsky.social for the concept.

Compare BigTime college sports w their 100yo stadiums to these pro teams demanding new every 30yrs
The difference: Alabama Football is never moving. There's no leverage to demand a new stadium. So they pay for it themselves.
The threat of moving is how teams steal taxpayer $$$ to build stadiums.

I thought of a way to remedy the 'I don't know anything about half the CM's' problem.
Make it a top 15 or 20 list like College Football rankings. Only assign points to the top 20. So ppl just rank their top 20.
Or rank their top 15 and bottom 5.

I think we manage to get high quality people even with the low pay. But it's disrespectful to expect people to do that job for $25k.

That's wild! I guess it's been a while since I have checked in on German rail. Was always great when I used it: 1998, 2006, 2011.

I have no issue with The Mayor's Office having a full & well paid staff.
I do think Council should be paid much more: $75-$125k. And have a lot more administrative staff. Regardless of the # of CM's.
What do you think π€?

I used to drive Uber. Met a wealthy passenger from California who brought up taxes & said something like: I'd rather not pay 13% in state income tax but I like where I live so I'm staying. He kind of shrugged it off.

I also walked 3 miles yesterday during lunch break just to exercise.
So the breakdown is:
Bus steps: 2,000
Exercise: 6,000
Miscellaneous: 2,000

I took a rideshare home. Took the bus to get across town earlier though. About half mile walk on both ends of that ride.
