I totally hear you! One thing you can try is setting up Google alerts for Sabrina(or anyone for that matter). It’s not quite the same as the bird site, but it helps to stay on top of things.

And oh wait, even FBI(and most other intelligence agencies for that matter) recommends using an adblocker to prevent malware and to dodge scammers!

I don't get their logic. If I’m using an adblocker, it means I’m annoyed by ads and DEFINITELY won’t click them. People suggesting premium? Pretty insensitive. Also with subscriptions rising & features shrinking for the same price, it’s frustrating. I prefer supporting creators, not corporations.

That sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. Keep posting, we can just hope that some post breaks containment. I've seen random posts coming up on the Discover feed whenever I open that.

Ugh, that's frustrating. Perhaps following up again 'might' help. Especially with the screenshot of the insights you shared. What even happened around March? I just read your comment that Bluesky limits interaction on the number of people you follow. That's ridiculous on their part.

Even if we account for spam or inactive followers, follower demographics, the gap is too significant. Also Bluesky claims that they don't use any algorithms. Perhaps there is some technical glitch? Or you got shadow banned? I'm just spitballing here. Have you had the chance to talk to support?

Your post got me thinking. If some folks are 'good' just because they fear the wrath of god, it’s unsettling to consider what happens when they confront the absence of such a force. One must be good because it's who we are, not because of a cosmic scoreboard.

Wow, that was a tough read. I had to pause twice. I remember @broadwaybabyto.bsky.social posting about her "friend's" ableism and callousness a couple of days ago, but I didn't realise it went this deep. Her writings always manage to reflect our own underlying ableism as temporarily abled folks.

Or target them when they’re worried about their bodies and thinking of losing weight. The company knew when a teenage girl deleted a selfie, and it would bombard her with beauty advertisements, assuming she deleted it because she felt she looked ugly. 3/3

In 2017 a confidential doc is leaked that reveals Facebook offering advertisers the opportunity to target 13-to-17yos across platforms during moments of psychological vulnerability when they feel ‘worthless,’ ‘insecure,’ ‘stressed,’ ‘defeated,’ ‘anxious,’ ‘stupid,’ ‘useless’ & ‘like a failure.’ 2/3

“You think this embryo similarity is random? Please. My smartphone didn’t evolve from a microwave — someone designed it!” 🤡🤡 - a creationist probably.

It turns out you were right. It was naive of me to think that presenting actual scientific evidence would change their mind. Instead, he ended up blocking me.

Within just three or four months of starting gender-affirming hormone therapy, trans women’s haemoglobin will fall from typical male to typical female values. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC....

Trans women who undergo gender-affirming hormone therapy see a significant decline in their athletic abilities. They generally do better than cisgender women before hormone therapy, but after they are the same if not less. cgscholar.com/bookstore/wo...

Although a masculinizing puberty may confer advantages, an October 2023 review of trans women who seek out such therapy said that many of the advantages are “reduced, if not erased, over time” if they undergo gender-affirming hormone therapy. www.frontiersin.org/journals/spo...

I'm not able to understand their end goal here. How does denying science help them? I can understand in other cases like in climate science denial wherein the oil lobby is strong or in denying evolution itself because it probably goes against their religious text. How is fluoridation affecting them?

I read that they're planning to monetize through a marketplace of related services and, eventually, user subscriptions. They haven't ruled out doing ads too. Source: www.wired.com/story/big-in...

Had lunch yesterday with someone wearing Meta’s smart glasses and a Bee AI device. I didn’t realise until midway and suddenly the conversation felt… off. They casually explained that Bee AI helps them remember conversations and summarise their day. We’re normalising surveillance as “productivity.”
