The abyss gazes back

I'm not, but I guarantee you I live the same way you live as a Christian. I can treat people with compassion without the need for a God. All the separated us is what we believe, which kind of makes the religion pointless and it boils down to the desire for a God to be real, or fear of Hell.

That's because you indoctrinated them as a child, which is child abuse to me. Of course they're going to think God is real. Kids think Santa Clause and the tooth fairy are real as children too because authority figures are trustable to them. I grew up believing and then found out the truth.

Familiar with the Roman emperor Nero? He also rose from the dead, except he didn't, he had impersonators. I think this is what happened with Jesus. The clues are in the Bible. NOBODY recognized him when he returned. Even Mary mistook him for the gardener. Why? The story is highly suspect to me.

So did many others before and after him and magicians today are out there performing the same "miracles." Were all those other people also the son of God/God in the flesh? Jesus wasn't the first one to do any of his miracles. What exactly makes him the son of God or God himself?

She was awed because she had no free will. God intended for her to say yes before she was created. Sadly the stories don't demonstrate that any of this is true. For being the son of God or God, whatever your interpretation, Jesus didn't do anything spectacular that wasn't already done before him.

Sounds like angels just demanding that these things happen and you can't say no because it's God, which means Mary did not have free will/choice. While God didn't just like, violate her without her knowing, she was still made to conceive because God planned that to be her life.

The N64 was my next system. I became a beast at killer instinct gold, got all the stars is SM64 and played my first M rated game when I was 11 - Conker's Bad Fur Day. The guy at the video store said I was too young to play it but my great grandpa walked up and said "no this one is for me" xD

I grew up with a sega genesis. vectorman 2 was the first game I ever played. I had the badass Sega channel and was looking thru all the demos. Something about that one immediately drew me in and it allowed me to play the first 2 levels and I immediately needed the game. That was it. Gamer 4 life.

I know an angel came and told her she would conceive and she went a long with it. That doesn't sound like consent. It sounds like an angel said first she will conceive and give birth to God's baby and she just accepted it. If she was pregnant before marriage, it makes sense she would lie about it.

Well she is if she cheated on Joseph. If she actually slept with a roman soldier, that's pretty messed up. Then again, we know almost nothing about Joseph as he is barely mentioned in the book at all until one of the Gospels, almost as if he was made up to pretend Mary had a husband at all.
comment in response to

It was actually rape because God predestined Mary to accept his holy seed. She had no choice. There was no consent. God just came and did his thing. The story is even more fucked up if you look at the original version instead of what logically happened. Pretty sure she cheated on Joseph though.

This prophecy was also fulfilled in the next chapter AND 700 years before Jesus, so this passage IS NOT and CANNOT be about Jesus, yet most Christians don't know this because they only read the parts they like and ignore the context if it doesn't fit the narrative of Jesus.
comment in response to

Fun fact: the virgin birth was not a prophecy unless you read the KJV. Isaiah 7:14 says "look, a virgin will conceive..."
In a more accurate translation such as the NRSVUE, it reads "look, the young woman is with child..."
What's different is she is already pregnant and no longer a virgin.

Your statement about Josephus is exactly why that would be a forgery. Josephus was born after Jesus was already dead. How could Josephus have known Jesus? I will say the gnostic texts make better sense than the Christian doctrine, but still it's all silly fables to me.

Why do you believe in him in the first place? There's a 2,000 year old book that says crazy and impossible things, the whole thing is based on faith rather than evidence and the based non-biblical evidence is the writings of Josephus, which are a forgery and barely add to his existence. I'm curious.

I don't think he would've taken the throne. There is a passage where his disciples wanted to make him an earthly king and he ran to the mountains to hide in John 6:15. Jesus clearly didn't want to be an earthly king. I wonder why? Was it to avoid conflict? Or maybe he knew he wasn't the Messiah?

The three greatest video games quotes ever:
"Do you actually believe public opinion influences the government?"
"What you call government is actually a well-staged production aimed at satisfying the public."
"There's no such thing as miracles or the supernatural, only cutting edge technology."

That's fine. You're welcome to believe whatever you want on faith and even be wrong about it. I'd rather believe on logic and evidence and be correct, and I see no reason to believe any of this but I know John comes later and he included a whip for whatever reason. Makes sense Jesus attacked with it

But they are very identical. Mark came first and Matthew and Luke copied most of that one. John is the one clearly different.

The NRSVUE is more accurately translated. Take the KJV for example. Isaiah 7:14 reads as a young virgin will conceive and give birth. The more accurate translation in NRSVUE says a young woman is with child and will conceive. So she is already pregnant. Which means that has nothing to do with Jesus.

So we shouldn't trust John is what you're saying? If that's the logic then we can't trust the resurrection account either because they all detail different people at his tomb. Some leave out people entirely, some mention the same people but add extra

Besides, Jesus had no problem saying children who don't honor their mother and father should be stoned and also had no problem letting us know he would return with the fire in his eyes and basically snuff out his enemies, or in his parable that those who don't want him as king should be slaughtered.

Do you think he just made a whip and waved it around like a crazy person? Come on. The act itself is mean and violent. You can't calmly walk around with a whip gentle waving it slowly through the air and saying "ok time to leave" and expect that to work.

The Bible presents Jesus as being in the lineage, but where is the evidence? I don't care if scholars agree that the text says what it says. That doesn't mean it's true. The Bible also says there was a talking donkey. Donkeys cannot talk. The book also says Jesus was the Messiah, but he wasn't.

Says he made the whip, drove the people out and with the cattle and sheep. So he used the whip on all of them, people included and first.

He couldn't have been in the bloodline. The Bible doesn't say Mary was and neither was Joseph and he wasn't born from Joseph anyway. He wasn't a king either. A king is someone who would power and sits upon a throne. His disciples called him a king, but that's just not how that works. Be honest.

He did. He made a cat o' nine tails and was whipping people. That's violent. According to the text it was over money changers in the temple, but God never said this wasn't allowed, so Jesus was inventing his own law and authority here. He kicked people for doing what HE didn't like.

Jesus also drove demons into pigs, which then ran off a cliff. That's also destruction of property and murder against animals. Why didn't Jesus just like...send the demons back to Hell? Why didn't he just kill the possessed person so the demon was cornered back to Hell and then resurrect them?

The problem is their religion is about worshipping an evil baby killing, misogynist, racist, barbaric god. You're obviously not following the plot. Why are you even here? You're defending a group of people who are extremely minor, not doing anything and not being attacked.

No, you are trying to gaslight people because you're a dishonest person. Nobody is attacking Jews. We're attacking RELIGION. You're an idiot and you're whining that we're making fun a fairy tale but you're trying to pretend we're being hateful against a group of people and I'm calling out your bs.

No you don't got it. It has nothing to do with Jews. Please don't put words in my mouth, that's dishonest. It's about the religion. I'm an antitheist and the world should be free of this nonsense concept of an invisible wish granting sky fairy. It's very simple.

God IS the angel. He literally says he is doing these things. He caused David's wives to get raped and he used Satan to destroy Job for absolutely no reason. All of the characters in this book are absolutely vile, except Thomas who actually doubted Jesus like a normal human being, and poor Job.

Doesn't matter. All religion is cult nonsense that needs to go away, even if it's not forcing itself on others. We need humanity to believe in reality, not bullshit and prayers. Remember the evil god the Jews believed in and made up. Sure they're abandoning his law, but all of it needs to go.

Don't forget the story where God was going to murder Moses until his wife cut off their son's dick tip and touched Moses' feet with it and then God hissed and ran away because circumcision was his kryptonite! If you want a really crazy read, read Ezekiel 32:5 and on. God is absolutely diabolical.

Jesus flipped a table, stole a donkey and killed a bunch of pigs when he drove demons into them and caused them all to run off a cliff and into the water, drowning. And people say he was a sinless man 😂 I think he was trying to see how many crimes he could get away with!

God says you can purchase your wife with dick tips as currency, you MUST have your tip cut off to enter the holy land, and women lust after men who cum like horses. God sure loves cock, but he hates gays...
Conclusion: God is secretly gay and ashamed, so he wants others to think it's bad.

When I had a family member that was being stalked, the cops stopped showing up because they were "tired of frequent calls from the same location" and because they were unable to catch the stalker. He was very fast and when he jumped the fence, the fat cop said ok well I'm not doing that.

Christians also interpret the bible any way they want and they interpret this passage to say "being gay is wrong," but if you try to say well it doesn't necessarily mean man can't lie with man, like maybe it just means you can't lie to a man like you lie to a woman, they will say you can't do that.

Who is promoting sex to children? This post has nothing to do with that nor is it doing that. This is an adult platform. If there are any kids here that see this and think being gay is cook because they don't understand that this is a joke, then the parents are to blame. They are promoting it.

It was never wrong to begin with. The act of two males having sex however, was. You can be in a gay relationship though, that part is fine. It's wild how so many Christians are listening to word of mouth rather than read what the book says, because they're being lied to in church about what it says.
