"Historically, we've approximated this. React Native is authored in Flow, but the community has long since moved to TypeScript in open source" Yay typescript!

How do we create groups/communities that can join forces so they are no longer solo?

Yea def not good for the public library use case. I thought it was an internal only library.

With code organization and github.com/javierbrea/e... you can kinda get there.

Note for those using "baseUrl" its not supported, and is scheduled to be deprecated in TS 6+ (github.com/microsoft/ty...) I just spent 30 mins migrating my codebase away from using it.

And now?

I much dislike the future of everyone's output being llm fluff. I followed a popular GitHub repo for a few months and read every issue to become more familiar with the codebase. One of the maintainers used an llm for every response. I hated it so much I stopped following the project.

Agreed. It's just the next investment/marketing rush after crypto did the same thing. The marketing is so prominent its brainwashed dev into thinking that they must start with AI first.

I write them down in my notebook first, if i dont fix them that day they go into github issues.

Does anyone have a link to the reanimated issues? I tried searching on github and couldnt find it.

Same in solo app dev.

If there is a measuring board then it zooms in to where the fish tail is to get a better view, and allow you to quickly enter the length. If the species detection is poor or wrong, another screen is available to enter it.

Reminds me of when I worked on windows servers for a while. "was there a windows update" was usually the first thing we checked for. Lol

Im curious if theres like breakpoints for when hurts you or becomes useful for those with smaller datasets. Im rocking a pretty poorly balanced dataset for classification purposes. Some classes have as little as 100, some have upwards of 5000. (Yea I'm working to improve that..)

I watched all last year on my android tv via the Apple TV app. There's a few bugs/hangups, but it works.

Completely agree. And soon the market will be filled with buggy and barely usable apps. Soo like now but worse. Lol

@nrempel.com posted it yesterday. I always got my ear to the ground about React native and or rust : )

Maybe it's time to dive deeper. Now that hacks.mozilla.org/2024/12/intr... exists I really want to try it out.

What subjects about React Native do you want to talk about?

I need to start playing with this.

100% agree. I also like that Rust builds right from source, not some "pre-built" package thing. I just started an experiment of installing typescript libraries via GIT#hash instead of npm versions. I'm already bundling/compiling my typescript.. don't want your pre-bundled js.. just give me the TS.

Depends on the team comfortability on navigating the git history. Is it worth the extra effort to make it easier to find out why changes occurred? Or when you do need to git blaime/etc you can walk through the more tangled git history.
comment in response to post
Might need a team meeting to discuss what is best for everyone. Always tradeoffs, with rebases the git history is more "clean" and easier to find commits with changes. Since it requires that you get latest first then re-apply your changes on top.

Until you need one that's like 10ft and every. single. one. Is 6ft or smaller.

I dream of the day that Rust's sqlx comes to TS. Where I can just write raw SQL and have the compiler tell me if I have a typo.
