I saw "Americans on People Forcing Their Way Into Capitol on 1/6" Minority is 19%. I went down a non-rabbit hole to a graph on Melber 1/6 and Ghiat on Melber & substack. 👍, NC =1 horror show. Oddly in bkground, great pres/humanitarian w/great taste in music gone on to higher plains. ✌️🙏 2 of 2

Unspoken words again in the image. It really is lovely and soothing.

Thanks! The picture's worth 1000 words whether active or still. Both work for me. That's fun.

It has happened, even to me. It's why I look.

If anyone besides R.B-Ghiat wants more, subscribe to her substack.com lucid acct. I read Strongmen,Applebaum, + & thought I saw the path & knew what was going on. Not guessing at it. I like puzzles but this one of thousands, not so much. Thanks for being on this still pretty new to me social forum.

I'm sorry but I think I beat you to it. This past weekend over one remaining yard sign up (and I did leave my Ukrainian ribbons up and faded Proj 2025 stickers). I told spouse "I'm on overload" (fascism helps do this). But that got delayed as we have a dog who needs attention and being walked).

I'm married to an Air Force vet; have a sibling who was an Air Force officer. Parent and friend (L. Colonel) went to West Point. & I worked in a field that req. accuracy. We don't want a lapdog other than the 22 lb furball we have. We cheerlead for democracy not a putin-orban satellite country.

omg ... All I thought was it'll be 3 days after 1/6/25 ... But yes, thank goodness and odds are that he didn't tell anyone not to invite xxx so we'll see what happens. Carter would probably rather have a Plains, GA funeral. I had just wondered about him a couple nights ago.

That gave me chills (that are still running down my calves). It also makes sense since Dylan took a different route in life.

We just watched it in the last week. I agree that it's a great movie with fabulous acting.

I love that picture. Thanks.

Sort of similar but not really. Pinochet's regime was fm '73 to '90. Computers were mainframes, pcs didn't exist, in '71 HS, I took a course on card readers and card punch and cable didn't exist. So, it may be Pinochet but on steroids to the power of 10. We'll see the horrors of democ. destruction.

Wow! We have fox around here (PA edge of a city) but I've never seen that color. It's beautiful.

I voted for McGovern (nobody's perfect) in my first election and Carter in my 2nd. I remember the gas lines but I also remember the joy he brought (and I think he kept the WH at 58 degrees). I'm choked up.

Before I leave this house permanently, I'm putting books in the attic about the "mafia" that took over this country (Ghiat, Applebaum, 1 Woodward, Synder, etc.) Argh.

I used duct tape on our poor fluffy. I have a photo of him lying down in front of a mirror looking really sad. He had a bump on his paw and kept chewing on it. Be well, little guy.

Hurray. I like the fill-ins but there's only one Nicolle Wallace on MSNBC from 4-6. Glad your voice is back.

Like he killed our spirits but missed giuliani's apparently.

I won't be here in 18 years due to my age. I hope this happens. Obama's best guess about 8 years ago was it would take 200 years for justice to come back.
comment in response to post
We need a special branch of a lock-down ward made of clear plexiglass so we can all watch them - no phones, no tv, no paper and no sign language. It can replace justice at scotus.

Yeah. Under rumpf, Pompeo was going god knows where. The lying was massive and non-stop and I had never thought of a shadow government before seeing that. Crazy.
comment in response to post
If rumpf and orban pardon all the 1/6 idiots and Stone and Bannon gather all their cronies, does he have a homemade and homegrown military?

Thank you for being pointed murdoch-owned. I don't trust the paper. Have a brother-in-law lawyer who worked for a large financial company. He still reads the WSJ that I gave up when the editorial folks were finally removed. WSJ's a level above murdoch's NY Post ... maybe.

So, is he standing or bending his knees?

Take melania, too. Her H1B lie apparently isn't illegal.

Nothing like having empathy and compassion and Jon Stewart finally lost. I am so sorry.

I don't know that he wrote it. There was only one word fully capitalized. I believe the new healthcare lie is just a "concept". (Kudos to Harris for that line.)

There's always someone in his stupid ear for everything he does. They want precious minerals (Greenland). Mary L. did say her family created the most dangerous man in the world. Someone please find out what his school records were. I want to know what its grades were.

That's comforting and I didn't know (we're in PA). I'm just not convinced we get out of this crumbling mess. Spouse said it took Duerte 6 months to kill their institutions and it started with ... the department of justice. He threw opposition out of helicopters. rumpf met w/him.

Stop russia. Stop orban. Stop Erdogan and his crudités. Stop authoritarians and followers from murdering its peoples.

Thanks to Dr. Fauci for his work with HIV/AIDS and covid. If he wasn't around when rumpf was lying, I'm not sure what we would've done ...

Heart be still. I'm in love with this little tri. (In my life, that was corgi number 2.) I love our sr throwback Pomeranian and he's hysterical but our fluffy therapy dog had a following, got laughed at frequently, was put through car windows for people to pet and at our age, the Pom works :) .

W O W. It's fabulous.

Caption (?): "I can shoot myself in the head on 5th Ave and no one will arrest me because I'm crazy and they don't like me. But don't worry, I'll be back for a 3rd term."

It's pretty nice here. We get folks who may not be that educated or a bot but it's handleable. I agree and I've had to block a couple characters - I look at who's following because of what I've seen elsewhere.

I'm not sure how the hell we survive it.He is crazy (certifiable) and Duarte and Bolsonaro are bad enough (and add gohmertz, comer and other high-caliber, highly educated numbnuts in Congress and ... oh yeah, planning a rumpf 3rd term (expected for years).ugh.

I'm done. Ran a check against the website. It was a low to very low creditability rating. What a surprise.

Start all over with basics. Start w/the bible as in,"Thou shalt not steal." "Thou shalt not covet a neighbor's wife and daughter." "Thou shalt not sound like an idiot on the world stage.""Thou shalt not steal oil fields."Spouse asked why greenland.I said some dope likely told him.Sounds like putin.

"Dear Mr. Iger, Americans no longer trust the national news media to report fully, accurately, and fairly..."This is the start of the likely end of freedom of press.Look for open internet media from hungary - it died circa 2018.russia ... pffft, nothing but fox, i mean RT (aka not new but it's bad).

You're consistent w/out proof. Wonder what rfk, jr would be like now if he had gotten the covid vaccine (no, Sky, not dead). I don't trust most vaccines and I know the vaccinations for covid have kept us alive and those w/out it have died. It's what the gop did for this country - lied so we'd die.

He looks like our last corgi (shy of 16). I love the harness on him (or her). It looks like what we're using for a rescue Sr throwback Pom. Corgi got Degenerative Myelopathy. Seen around 14+ yrs. We kept adapting how he did things to moving our bedrm downstairs for 5 months so no stairs).

Very cool and yes, got the point.

I'm also not obeying in advance even though Masha Gessan says to say yes to everything the authoritarian wants. That's why a yard sign (or two) are still up with ribbons on a large tree in an intersection is standing with Ukraine. Now, let's throw water on him and see what happens.

I agree! The expletive changing phrase that's useless now is, "Lock him up in solitary until rumpf, maga brains (leave the body and replace brains with sane ones), and musk are gone forever." Sorry about the expletive.

I have a friend who's from another dictatorship working as a doctor here. He warned me (like I really needed warning) things would get more violent. Twit is the black hole of the universe sucking in evil. That's why we're being real on bluesky (that god for the option). Yes, ma'am, it's scary.

Sorry, Molly. I don't know how you or anyone else gets through this without harm to oneself (brain rattling).
