A man of limited talents. 😂 Had enough of X and the person I'd become on there. Hoping to be calmer and less sweary on here. Newport County, Wales, politics, health, sport, music. Willing to pontificate on anything. More intolerant as I age. Ex-Nurse.

The question is 'Why only a blue plaque?'. We've been erecting statues for deserving women, why not Annie?

I did say prior to the game in Skopje that a point v North Macedonia would be a good result. I still think Belgium are in decline and could end the group as third. I'll take a point on Monday...

It's a subjugation role. Unfortunately the Senedd Government are too weak to stand up for Wales and press for greater powers...

Does it make any difference? We have con-artists in power in both Governments...

It shows the contempt WM Labour has for the Welsh people...

It's the same with pensions. There should be no need for winter fuel allowances if the basic pension was better. It should be the same as the 'Living wage' and personal allowances starting at that point too. Tax the richer more...

Well it would certainly be nice for the party triumphing 'Change' as their election slogan to make some change, rather than carry on the Tory agenda with no change...

I disagree. People will look at the councils where Reform have power (or possibly be directed to them by other parties) and realise it's all fur coat and no knickers...

And I'm guessing this is relevant because of Farage's speech earlier...?

It's an appalling thing for the UK PM to say. But it didn't surprise me. Politics nowadays is full of people unfit the tie the shoelaces of the people that preceded them...

Forever is the answer. Unless you stop voting for the duopoly that took us to this place (and ignore Reform Ltd). My personal view is to dismantle the system and have federalism...

Good game today. Yesterday's Challenge Cup was embarrassingly one-sided. Best side won both games, but standard of refereeing needs to be looked at...

It just shows what a joke party Labour is. Win an election and make your voters pay. The easiest decision would have been to tax the richest in society while you reform the benefits system. Both would be the correct decision...

I gave up on Labour when Kinnock became Leader. I'm surprised that so many others didn't see that it was no longer about the working class from then on. The party needs to die. And people need to find other left wing parties instead...

It's similar to the Brexit debate which lead to most European Nurses in the ICU unit where I worked leaving the UK because they no longer felt wanted (or safe) here. Extreme stupidity...

It's because many have been parachuted in from Labour HQ. It's a party of 'yes men's (and yes they prefer white men to any other gender or racial profile)...

No but litter (and drug treatments) probably is something that the Welsh Government needs to ask their WM superiors about before forming an opinion. Time to break from WM and make decisions based on revenue we generate. Of course the problem is that without Wales, English Labour won't control WM

It's a out having pride in where you live. Unfortunately with industrialization of much of Wales, they are no jobs and so people look for relief in drugs. I think Independence is the answer...

It's owned now by Tortoise media. They've got rid of any decent (or at least those with any integrity) and replaced them probably mainly with AI or any Tory journalist that is cheap. It's a shit-show...

The BBC need to held to their impartiality role. There are too many Tories creating bias in the reporting of 'facts'. Reform get far more coverage than parties with more representation in the corridors of power.

Personally I think the people that blithely vote for Labour are part of the problem. They talked of change, but didn't specify it pre-election. Now post-election it's clear no change was planned. They fiddle around the edges but are too scared to tackle the real problems. Tax the rich more...

The point is about scrutiny. He's running scared of being held accountable of his political actions. He was parachuted into the constituency, not wanted by the constituency. He seems to think weekly surgeries and writing stock replies to concerns is the job. He'll be voted out in 4 years...

Because he's supposed to be their representative in Westminster. And he's under the misapprehension that changes to disability benefits are a good thing. He needs to hear face to face what the consequences of his support for the legislation will have on these people. Surely that is his job as MP.
comment in response to post
What's wrong with a public debate? Is he afraid of scrutiny?

What? Even in a cold drink?

Hmm. Who to believe? A politician who will say anything that makes him look good or a group of disability activists wanting to put him straight of some of the abhorrent policies he supports...

Labour are not fit to govern anymore. And Plaid should be pushing the Independence argument because there is no future in being run by a Westminster government that is not interested in anywhere beyond the M25...

Stop voting for parties that wish to maintain the Union. Wales can never grow while Westminster holds it's purse strings. Independence for Wales and Scotland and federalism for England is the only answer...

It all comes down to money. The political morons don't understand that spending on public health initiatives and/or social care will save more money than ignoring it and expecting the NHS to take up the strain. But it's all about creating profits for their private healthcare backers. It's corrupt

Many old industrial areas have become 'dumps'. The old South Wales coalfield is an area of no prospects, because Westminster have forgotten all these areas which were the bedrock of it's wealth and created the Empire. Nowadays they are relegated to prostrating themselves to billionaires largese...
