And three and final.

And today, I finished Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. It’s a fun follow up to Sly 2, but definitely feels lesser than 2 was. 2’s structure just works so well by giving most of the villains 2 levels instead of 1. But the story is still pretty fun and has good variety, as does the gameplay.

The other day, I finished a run of Sly 2: Band of Thieves. Still the absolute peak of this series- the missions are fun, the story is absolutely the best in the series and has some incredible presentation, and it has some of the best levels in the series. Canada is a peak level in a game.

I just take it as it comes. And either A) get excited to see a character I like in a crossover, however small the role, B) am indifferent because I either don’t have connection to the guest or just feel indifferent, or C) find it incredibly funny for being so weird. The CrossWorlds ones are C.

I wouldn’t count Ralph as a really random guest inclusion. Sonic had a voiced cameo in his movie, so it was kinda fitting to see Ralph make the jump into a Sonic game. It’s like poetry. It synergizes two IP. The others are pretty random, tho.

So what you’re saying is Date Everything is getting Office Depot DLC?

Okay, but it’s not the Kidz Bop version. Any AMV lacking a guy barking is automatically not a treasure. I don’t make the rules, I just state them for the record. Because having watched it, it was very amusing.

Yesterday I did a full playthrough of Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, once again inspired by someone online- this time @benjamage.bsky.social I also had the itch to replay Sly for a bit here and decided to do it. It’s a real charming and fun platformer that has a real good flow to it.

Forgot to get the box art, so instead, Crash 4 gets this. It always gets this.

I blame @dolly241.bsky.social for this. I beat Crash 4 again and, despite my best efforts, no matter how many times I play this game, it was incredibly rough trying to get all the boxes in the game. And I still managed to miss a bunch of crate gems. They really missed the mark compared to the OGs.

Yesterday, I finished Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice and with it (finally) the Apollo Justice collection. It’s still my least favorite Ace Attorney, but it’s still a very good game. My big criticism is the story is very disjointed being split between two countries and all.

Hooray! Happy to have you back, even if it’s to a much smaller degree than before!

And it’s definitely worth noting (at least in my head) the games here do seem to be making good use of the tech upgrades Switch 2 DOES have. So it doesn’t feel like DK Bananza should be able to run on the current Switch. But it still all boils down to Same Switch, Different Day.

It’s probably helped(?) by the fact Switch 2 is largely an iterative console, so it doesn’t feel like a huge leap from what we already have. Like, I plan to get one ASAP for Donkey Kong, but nothing about the console itself feels crazy different.

I forgot to mention, I beat Mario Kart 64 the other day. Playing on 150cc was harder for me than expected, because I was very much not in practice/played only on 50cc way back when, but it was a very fun game overall.

The marinara in my veins is boiling at this… Actually, not really. I just thought that sounded funny.

Hey, man, if you asked me, I would’ve always said step away, but make the occasional video if you get a real creative spark. Like, just watching the streams is more than enough for me, but if you wanna go back and make some videos, I’ll still be there, for sure.

Today, I finally for myself, after ages of watching others play it and hyping it up, finished Garfield Kart Furious Racing. And after having played it for myself, what is my ultimate takeaway? It is the game of all time. No, but it was better than I expected, genuinely. Not by much, tho.

And yes, this was mostly to make the pun, but the point stands. Let it go already, we got a way better game after. Same to you, Paper Mario fans who won’t shut up about Sticker Star.

Another YouTube game clear- Pin the UFO. It’s a legit version of one of those crappy mobile ads where you pull pins to avoid murdering something. Not bad, but now I want to play a video game where you manage the lives of many multicolored aliens. But I just played Pikmin recently…

Dude, I feel you there. I bought the Apollo trilogy last June, and just recently started going through SoJ. I love the series, but I always find myself dragging my feet starting these games. Similarly, got the Edgeworth collection in December, haven’t touched it.

Today, I beat a neat little puzzle game through YouTube’s attempts to have games in their efforts to consume all aspects of free time- Coloruid. Fun puzzle game where you try and connect colors, pretty short with only 16. Was a nice way to spend an hour.

Last night, on a whim, I replayed Bowser’s Fury. The core concept of having one big open world 3D Mario sandbox is still very fun, and could absolutely be fleshed out in a follow up. Has issues to work out, obviously, but still very good on its own.

Actually double checking- it’s not even the Mii I saw, so screw me I guess for trying to give Nintendo even one small W for this overglorified overview trailer.

Also replayed every track in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, just because I was in a Mario Kart mood after the full World reveal. Still an exceptional Mario Kart experience with a stupid great track line up. Even if some tracks aren’t super exciting, the whole package makes every track feel worth it.

And finally, did a replay of Pikmin 4. Could’ve had a personal best for day count if I hadn’t forgotten about the worst sidequest in the game, but that’s beside the point. I do think this is still the most fun Pikmin experience, for how much there is to do in the game. I like ticking boxes.
