I mean, how is Drew going to keep a job at the WaPo opinion section if he doesn't write crap like this? Cringing Jeff Bezos made his view very clear, and I'm sure Drew needs the job more than he needs moral clarity.

Didn't we all point out that there was no point in preserving the filibuster because it would only last as long as it was convenient for Republicans?

Is there a Tesla Takedown protest in Golden Valley today, and if so what time?

Could be. But isn't that a distinction without a difference?

Does anyone else think she's starting to look like Kristi Noem? What happens to these people?

Funny. The penny is literally the only policy I agree with him about.

Yeah, but his voters are the good people of Louisiana, so I don't think that's gonna happen.

The real kicker is that Dr. Bill Cassidy, LA Senator and vaccine advocate, voted for RFK Jr because he was was reassured by his interview. He is apparently not a good judge of character, which might also explain his groveling support for Trump and Doge ending medical research and Medicaid.

He certainly will if everyone just shits on him. I have never listened to the guy at all, but what I know is that this is a really good explanation of why due process matters that even knuckleheads can understand, and it's coming from someone they trust. That matters.

I think he hasn't followed any news outside of Fox and maybe the WSJ, and is an object lesson in what that does to your intellect and your conscience.

It does seem Republicans are working every day to find the point at which even MAGAs will draw a line. And of course, there are decent people everywhere.

I think there are going to be whole threads sharing turnip recipes. Unfortunately, most of the good ones involve tasty ingredients we probably won't be able to afford/access anymore.

Seeing terrible people taking big losses is the only silver lining in this whole catastrophe. Doesn't really help with what the rest of us are experiencing, though.

Angie Craig, MN Congresswoman, is holding town halls in all 4 Republican districts in the state. I hope this will be an opportunity to do exactly this.

My thought on the one man would be that it is Mitch McConnell, who could have voted to convict hiim, allowed other R Senators to do the same (because they are too craven to do it without approval from Mitch), and kept him from holding office again.

so glad you are doing this. I really think the small-town protests are even more important than the big ones

I feel fairly sure they will try to create violence--that's what Fox News at al craves more than anything. It's going to be a real challenge for organizers if the numbers continue to grow, but there's a lot of de-escalation training available.

I think this is right. I went to a very large protest at the MN State Capitol today, but I'm even happier about all the small towns, some in very red areas, that had their own protests. For one thing, those people are taking a stand where their neighbors may still be very pro-Trump.

Yes, we took the Green Line from Minneapolis, and it was too full for people to get on after about US Bank Stadium. There were crowds on every platform that couldn't get on.

I wonder if the ADL is going to be as weak on this as they were on Elon's Nazi salute.

One thing that needs to be understood a lot better: The House Republicans voted to define this whole session as "one day" so that they could tie their own hands to keep themselves from stopping this.

I guess this is what's called a silver lining. But it's a mighty big stormcloud.
