The last time I took a drug test, the paperwork referred to me as the "donor" and I was really creeped out because what were they going to do with my urine after the test?

That’s why I canceled my NYT subscription and avoid mainstream media. Either they are too lazy or to craven to go beyond “facsists say this but some experts disagree” and actually you know try to discern the truth.

It's impossible to be a fascist goon who takes himself seriously and likes to threaten people while eating an ice cream cone.

As long as you can still get ice cream, I think that is a good sign that civilization prevails.

My grandfather was a WWII vet. He was adamantly against banning flag burning, saying that if he didn’t fight to defend freedom of speech, what did he fight for?

How do we know his birth certificate isn't just a fake? And the birth announcement in the newspaper in 1985 wasn't just the start of a massive conspiracy designed to topple America from within?

I would hate to be my child who acted like that. More evidence that affluence is often just a symptom of underlying mental illness and maladjustment.

Can someone explain to me how it's legal to grab people looking for work outside Home Depot? Is being brown and speaking Spanish enough to justify probably cause?

What's the difference between billionaires and the high school kids who leave their trash all over my street? The billionaires make a billion times more trash.

We all know that morals and values in our public leaders matter greatly. Except if they are a Republican and are doing God's work while taking time out from a. propositioning men in public bathrooms, b. cheating on their wives who have cancer, c. sexually abusing their wrestling team members,

That's why I just gave up on Facebook. I just wanted pictures of my friends' kids and pets and got elected officials outing trans kids.

Maybe someone should send them some books about historical army mutinies. You know, just for some light reading to keep them entertained while they wait around.

Guessing from your profile pic you are also a middle-agedish white guy. I was getting the same right-wing spam. My middle-agedish white wife says she doesn't get that spam. Not surprising given that men are not only easier targets for right-wing radicalization but ideologically the target audience.

Fair enough to examine all the factors from a statistical standpoint. But also common sense suggests that many Americans were foolish and selfish and those who scored that way were predominantly found in Republican areas of the country.

Even during that 2020-2021 winter wave, the healthcare resources in blue counties were stretched to the breaking point. So I think the difference in healthcare between counties may have made an impact, but much much less than red counties' selfishly ignoring basic public health.
comment in response to

The real story is that a huge amount of Americans are so selfish that they literally don't care if their actions kill others. When political and community leaders ask for any iota of sacrifice, these selfish people reject them and turn to fascism instead rather than admitting their fault.

I kept myself safe by isolating so that I could safely care for people, many of whom wanted to pretend that COVID didn't exist and so took no precautions and caught COVID at their own family celebrations that I and my family did not get.

My nuclear family celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas by ourselves in 2020 in part because I was working in a hospital and we were SLAMMED by COVID cases.

I live in a purplish county in a blue state. My daughter's preschool was open all through COVID. But I am still bitter that public schools were closed BECAUSE selfish adults insisted that it was more important they be allowed to go out to bars than we make our society safe for kids to go to school.

And they are taking our campaign contributions and paying these people money to hear "ditch your morals." The American people are hungry for MORAL leadership - leadership that is honest, compassionate, inclusive, and courageous. That doesn't take campaign contributions and overpriced consultants.

When your stated theology is all about Christians exercising power over other groups however they want, it's not surprising when Christian leaders take that to mean they can exercise power over their Christian followers however they want.

I'm not writing off his supporters - but someone with the lack of character Cuomo has is the same old "R said, D said" politics that brought us Trump in the first place. If we do not elevate leaders with personal and political character, democracy will die.

One might think he regrets abusing his position to sexually harass women, or to use his taxpayer funded staff to work on his own personal projects for profit. This guy is as hollow as Trump.
comment in response to

Happy to partner with conservatives who still believe in democracy. "Liberals" like Cuomo who don't believe in democracy, who are only in it for themselves, who have no ability to morally critique their own behavior, are no better than Trumpers.

In all fairness, he did learn to read before he became President, but long after he had become an adult. I think his wife taught him. It is true, however, that he was drunk, racist, and is partially responsible for our current predicament by pardoning traitors and kneecapping Reconsturction.

And a certain man whose daughter was sick came to Jesus and Jesus said, “Fergoshsakes we’re all gonna die!” And the man said, “I guess my daughter was just waste fraud and abuse after all.” And then Jesus said, “it’s a great time to buy crypto!”
