I miss my Wii (it's in my cupboard, I just need a composite converter - they are £10 on Amazon)

My only complaint is that the games could come to PC earlier and (previous true but maybe not so much now) a bit more optimised.
Nier Automata was one of my first J-Port experiences (played in 2020 before the bug fixes) and I felt some things could have been better. Still a great experience though

IDK what I was expecting when they said they were optimising for Deck (I guess, subconsciously, 60FPS with gfx compromise) but, 30FPS is still amazing. That's not a comfortable experience for me tho, the PC it is! Thanks for your review, I would have gotten cozy tomorrow night and been disappointed!

When I was younger, I had the mentality of trying to see everything through to the end. As I get older, I've begun appreciating just dropping bad media, and more generally not letting the sunk-cost fallacy get the best of me

In a way I understand speedrunners. Sometimes it's not the story I want to re-experience, just the fluid and well made mechanics of the game itself. To that end, sometimes I'll replay a game and skip the cutscenes. Half Life 2 is one of my favourite to "speedrun". Little dialogue, maximum action.

I actually had this in LAD: Infinite Wealth. I just couldn't bring myself to do the final boss rush to the end with Kiryu after having spent several hours boosting my stats in the dungeons.
The boss ended up being a cake walk because of the grinding, point still stands though 😅

Me, 50 wiki articles in, reading about some random NPC that had 5 minutes of screen time: "I've lost the plot".

They put AI tools into PowerToys too 😭, can't tell but it probably wasn't the skunkworks teams who wanted it

I had a web plugin that played the Wii Shop Channel theme whilst you're on a shopping website. One day, at uni, I had my (noise-canceling) headphones on, connected to my phone. I was scrolling eBay on my laptop and I was wondering why everyone was looking at me.
The laptop was at full volume.

I never understood them, and I always got coupons for random games or software there was no chance of me ever using/playing. Maybe if they had changed it to be weighted towards items that are in your wishlist/games from developers you had crafted a badge for, it would have been a bit more useful.

$3,670,000,000,000 value company by the way, can't even get a streaming service experience right. If the idea is that they want me to buy an Apple device, they are really pushing me away. If this is the UX here, I can't imagine how bad it is across the rest of the ecosystem.

As a non-Apple device user, Apple TV is one of the worst UX I've ever had. I could complain for hours about it, but in shorter words: it's asinine.

Upon frame by frame analysis, it appears that the green shell, after being thrown, spawns inside Funky's hit box, causing it to hit him next frame. At the same time, the banana is dropped which Koopa then hits next frame. The result is both players being hit within 1 frame of each other. [2/2]

Turns out the alt text doesn't work on mobile for videos so:
Koopa Trooper's green shell hits Funky Kong at the same time Funky drops his banana. Due to how close both players are, both are hit at the exact same time despite, at this distance, the banana should have cancelled out the shell. [1/2]

I'm 23, I've already bumped the 'Display Size' in Android up one notch. It causes some problems in some apps (and even the quick action shade) but man does it make my phone more comfortable to use.
I've always had poor eyesight though, more a case of accepting it than it getting worse (for now).

Coincidentally, I don't think that it's a surprise that the (AI) safety teams are drying up and their leads are leaving/being fired in the name of profitability!... I mean streamlining!... I mean...

When I was at uni (for CompSci), ethics was always prefaced with "sorry folks... here's the boring bit, laws and ethics and stuff".
Now I work in (Computer) Security and the importance and vilgalence of morals and ethics were highlighted from the start during my training when I started that role.
