The kind of Christian who thinks being faithful means standing in solidarity with those who are oppressed, forgotten, and hated. Advocate for housing our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Opinions, as I best I can tell, are my own. He/him

I feel like a sign reading “no kings but Christ” would have given me a very different impression of who that person was just a few years ago.

When I watched all those horror movies I didn’t know I was one day going to move to a farm and stay alone in a giant farmhouse and discover after staying there for 5 nights that the house has a basement and of course remember the whole time that I am literally 3 miles from another human being.

I wish we’d try harder to talk about immigrants apart from their work. Even if the work of immigrants didn’t put food on our tables, they’d still be valuable because they’re humans. Y’all say you hate capitalism but you keep letting it have the last word, and I really don’t understand that.

I am not ashamed (very ashamed) to admit that every few years I am open Google thinking “what was that song that went like “AND I DON’T WANT THE WORLD TO SEE ME, CUZ I DON’T THINK THAT THEY’D UNDERSTAND”

People trying to keep up with marvel have nothing on the challenge faced by those wanting to get into a ttrpg actual play show like dimension 20.

My mom recently told me that when I was pretty little I went to a VBS at the Evangelical church nearby. When she came to pick me up the staff all told her how excited they were that I got saved that day. You know, alter call shit. She never let me go back. That’s a real parenting win.

One of the reasons that I switched to Bluesky was hearing about meta deprioritizing news and current events. I have actually tried to find a news feed on here and have been unable to get more news than I see looking over my wife’s shoulder at Threads at any given moment. What’s up with that?

Really leaning into the belief that every adult wishes it was easier to make friends after this move. The results have been pretty positive so far! I recommend it!

Wrapping my head around Southern Minnesota politics is proving to be quite the task. Still ended up where all of my representatives aside from US Senators are bad Republicans. Colorado friends, give an extra grumpy call to Mr. Crank on my behalf, would ya? It’s been a while.

Moving from a place where I was arguing for density in my urban surroundings to a farm and retreat center dedicated to celebrating rural culture and history. I have lots to learn about how poverty manifests in rural communities, but I will be adding that work into the mix.

I lot of people seem to think that “we’re moving” means “we bought a house.” lol.

People seem to be really pushing that new Star Wars show, and like, I believe you. But my completionist self is out here slowly watching the animated x-men from the 90’s because I want to watch x-men 97 by like 2030. I am not going to watch the last 6 Star Wars shows I skipped to catch up.

Can’t spell police without lice. That’s something right?

Things I will miss the most about Colorado Springs: Some amazing friends,Vista Grande Community Church, Palmer park, views of Pikes Peak, nana’s bakery, Stompin’ groundz, Switchback, Dynamo, Kawa, Masala Bites, Food to Power, the Place, and being a part of change towards a more loving community.

Me: spends all my time day dreaming about public transit and not having to own a car. The job offer I get (that I am very excited about): food access education programing on a farm/retreat center in very rural MN. I guess the car is coming with me.

Many historical events make more sense when you look at Trump and think, ohh, so brains really can be that dumb and hateful people will follow them.

A problem with me is that I think the funniest thing that has ever been written is “but not a real green dress that’s cruel”

There are two calendar reminders on my calendar specifically inspired by music. One is the 17th of May. The other is 9/27. With a notification at 9:27.

Who is Colorado’s worst Jeff? I think it comes down to either Crank or Hunt.

To the former youth group people, did anybody else use the “if you like *secular artist*, you’d love *Christian artist*” posters in reverse? I was like, yeah, I like Red! Of course I’ll check out Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace!

It took me WAY too long to realize there was a difference between IMAX and Omnimax. I was like “why would Nolan make Oppenheimer so you have to go to a museum to watch it? I thought that was for fieldtrips about fish and penguins.”

I think it is just a fact that all trans people are cooler than me.

Yeah, Colorado Springs people, fill this out. Tell our community leaders that more housing is vital. Apartments, PSH, infill, and public transit are all important. There is a question here that tries to pit community identity and community growth against each other. You can reject that dichotomy.

My limited experience of American zoos would suggest that we are all just pretending polar bears are real.

For those who voted for this and are dismayed at what you got, we have to talk about the fact that so many of us knew that this was coming and tried to tell you. You need to reexamine your news and commentary sources. This was predictable. You could have seen it coming.

Did you know some babies can unfold not one, not two, not three, but FOUR pieces of laundry in the time it takes an average dada to fold one?

I just walked into a door and had to fully Velma my way around the floor to find my glasses. I couldn’t turn the lights on because sleeping baby, so naturally I bumped into three different noisy toys. I am now holding a grumpy baby.

“Sometimes I think it would be cool if I could post to a particular feed so I don’t have to bother everyone with my silly thought about coffee but could still say it to coffee lovers” -I say not wanting to use reddit-ly.

Telling somebody I am moving to Minnesota and they said Them: “you aren’t going to become a fan of the wild? Are you?” Me: “I mean, I love the wilderness.” They were talking about sports. It was sports. It’s always sports.

Sometimes I still miss my bike that got stolen a few years back. I still get really sad when I see a Surly. It feels like a very silly thing to grieve, but that bike really felt like home.

Sinners is a great movie. I don’t usually love horror, but this one is great. And uhhh, yeah they are both Michael B. Jordan, just so you don’t have to gaslight yourself through the whole movie like I did. Also, stay through the initial credits, most of my theater didn’t and they goofed.

Letting kids pick team names is such a gamble because there will either be a cute strategic compromise like Blueberry Cats or Spider-Man Pumpkins, or the whole group will immediate be all in on the skibbity toilets or the raspberry butts.

Ever more clear that RFK Jr. doesn’t know what autism is.
