Now, onto the plot. The question here is how strongly do I want to lean into fantasy tropes? For example, is the murder related to a "returning darkness," or some kind of "chosen one" idea? Or is the magic and non-humans fantasy enough, and the story should be more cozy mystery murder? #writing

Okay, I got some good setting background setup now, and I've settled on two non-human races, goblins and elves. I like that these are both traditional fantasy races, but also that I get to mess with them to make them fit my setting. I've also decided they are treated as equals to humans. #writing
