So sad I never got to meet her personally after joining the pbio department at UGA. It's immediately obvious how wonderful a person she was based on her impact across the department alone. She will be very dearly missed at UGA.

Oh what sad news, but thank you for sharing. She was the first person to invite me to give a symposium talk early in my career, for which I felt truly honored. What an incredible loss.

This is absolutely devastating. Even though Shu-Mei was not in my Rausher cohort, she and I had such fun and easy conversations from the first time we met. She felt like an old friend and was always so encouraging of everyone's science. I will miss her very much.

Such a loss for her family and the whole field. I met her a couple of times (I used to focus a lot on plant reproductive ecology). A real leader in the field.

I am so sorry for her family and for all of us who lost her too soon. I am also so lucky to have had her as a collaborator and friend. She made academia a wonderful place.
