And I really like how Reddit is organized by *topic* rather than by account. You can meet lots of interesting people on Bluesky, but if you want to focus on something specific, sometimes Reddit is a better model.

Threaded discussions are also just better, IMO. I like bsky, but reddit and usenet have hosted far deeper and more interesting discussions for me than twitter or any flat discussion site ever has.

There are a few "power users" modding the big subs who are often not acting in good faith. The site is still the best discussion site on the web IMO, but still. I live in fear that it's going to be taken over the way twitter was. You could buy off 20 power mods and ruin the site.

Depending on the sub, Reddit can be moderated very well. r/NFL is one of the least toxic places I’ve been on the internet. Don’t get me wrong, it’s social media so toxicity is part of the deal, but the mods do a great job of minimizing it.
