Hi Molly, I make a sports pod that often covers gambling issues. Pervasiveness of access and advertising, social damage, game integrity. Mostly relating to cricket, which like baseball is very granular, easy to spot-fix. Happy to chat if any use.

If it helps as background: When I wrote years ago about poker, people told me that gambling is often a more powerful addiction than drugs, tobacco, alcohol, etc., because the potential reward could be life-changing money, not just a temporary high. If you’re sure you can beat the game, you’re hooked

Hi Molly, i was an addicted sports gambler for years. I had a middleman at work who placed bets with a bookie. I lost THOUSANDS of $ over several years. To make matters worse I had to use a loan shark oftentimes to pay the bookie on Mondays which cost 25% more. Nightmare. Got clean on 1-15-2001.
