Listen, they showed voice chat, a camera, and Uno. They're bringing back the best era of online gaming, the halcyon days of Xbox Live Vision Camera nudity and drug use. The future is now.
Once, around Christmas time, I had someone kick me out of an Uno game for no reason. So I sent him a picture of me mooning him with my bare ass next to my Xmas tree. He replied back that I was awesome and he regretted booting me.
It would be so funny then to see you struggle with Deck's poor performances, poor image quality, shitty screen if LCD model, game incompatibility, Linux frustrations and Steam UI bugs.
There's a reason people keep on buying Switch 1 while Steam Deck is ignored by the masses.
lol just saw the camera. cmon folks. I’m excited to play the new Mario Kart too but it really feels like Nintendo have followed Sony and MS in regarding of hardware as simply a platform. And I think that surrenders their strongest market advantage.
If they stopped making hardware and released their games everywhere, they would be the most successful dev in the world. Their hardware can be quirky and fun, but they're better at games
I just can’t wrap my head around the mouse. Why not bring back the Wii pointer? The dock is in front of everyone’s TV, build the light bar into it and voila. At least it would be something no one else has.
I think they ultimately just hit the jackpot and can't go back due to the fusion of handheld and console. They won't give up either one but they can't afford to have two platforms anymore, right? I feel like there's only so much they can do with something that has to be portable.
I feel pretty confident that they'll eventually pull out something wacky again as an "additional pillar" to the Switch line. Making stuff that's a little weird and unexpected just feels too integral to the Nintendo identity for them to only iterate on the Switch until the end of time
It’s absolutely the pragmatic choice. which is why I think the net negative effect is so dangerous. It’s sort of an industry wide problem but no more so than consoles which I think we’re going to reflect back on in 10 years. It’s like population decline hah, once it arrives it’s already too late.
I thought DK looked cool, but it reminded me of a typical 3D Mario, reskinned to DK. I love Nintendo but I’m getting tired of the same old games with extremely similar stories. I mean how many Zelda games have you finding the Master Sword & defeating Ganon? Mario saving Peach & defeating Bowser?
Nintendo is one of the most creative companies in the world but their stories and games are exhausted and they haven’t really created a hit new IP with original characters, story, and gameplay in what feels like decades. And I feel with the pricing Nintendo has forgotten who their core audience is 😞
In that interview with Shuhei Yoshida last week, he commented that Sony simply didn’t have the resources to support both the PS4 and Vita at the same time. This would be even more true now if Nintendo were to split console and handheld again.
If you call your shot I’ll be impressed, but I think the Switch 2 is gonna be enormous. Any major deviation from the formula would’ve been a massive risk without much upside. I’m glad they even bothered to include a fun new gimmick with the mouse stuff.
It was turning the joy-con into a mouse, for me. Screams of trying to tap more into PC players, even if I di think it could be an interesting idea for Mario Party or any other game that's mostly a way to serve a bunch of mini-games.
It almost feels like Nintendo completely forgot what made their position in the market so great to start with. I've noticed a lot of shortsighted decision making from Nintendo lately. Not quite on the level of "The Wii U might be the beginning of the end for them", but still come baffling choices.

It's voice chat with optional camera. We've seen this before.
you guys catch the Nintendo direct today
If the Steam Deck had similar controllers as nintendo my crippled ass would switch up so fast its not even funny.
I also use it docked a majority of the time and the 8bitdo controllers come in handy for the rare 3d game I play on it.
Otherwise its mmo mouse+ footboard on pc.
