I gained a lot of respect for Green Day when I learned that for their 1st major tour as they were taking off in 94, they demanded Pansy Division be their opening band, and refused to play if PD weren't allowed to.
As if the reason for the concert was not heartbreaking enough, our hearts break for LA, some of my musician heroes was equally heartbreaking, yes we're geting old. I also saw a few surprises from a new generation. All in all the concert did what it was meant to do...provide help!
I was very happy that I got to see them play not one but two deep cuts last night, to the consternation of the very basic crowd who I don't think even knew it was Green Day until they played "When I Come Around"
On the Hella Mega Tour they played some really early stuff and I'd like to think people were staring at me because I know all the words and not because my singing was bad (it is)
I was thinking of maybe doing a quick Content about FireAid for Patreon but it wasn't interesting enough either way - played like a perfectly competent awards show. But at least I got to "Last Night on Earth" played live, and Dr. Dre surprise cameo was really fun. Anderson.Paak and P!nk are good.

I loved the Billy x3 opening!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When Arnstrong talked about Eilish's music, I really felt like I witnessed two defining artists of their generations really speaking with each other.
I bought every album that week with all my saved up cash.
