In 2000 fossil fuels contributed 60% to electricity generation.
Today it is 6%. In 2023 electricity was from almost 50% geothermal, 20% wind+solar and 22% hydro.

But is it as low emission as other renewables? Probably not.
It’s a very low % of Kenya’s mix though, so doesn’t change the overall success story

(These numbers mean nothing without absolute power consumption — actual fossil-based energy production in Kenya has about DOUBLED since 2000, from what I see.)
