Clearly because they don't think there's money in it. Public radio is sponsored by the same individuals who own all the media, all the chain stores, all the fast foods and dollar stores and commercial property. If it makes them money they'll report it.

also, if these entities are publicly traded, half of the wealth is owned and controlled by 1% of the people, with 85% of the remaining wealth owned by 10%. The last 15% is shared by the other 85%. Shares, votes, dividends, all of it. Chipotle and Family Dollar, GM and Apple.

I mean giant corporate entities who can shape tone and substance of reporting with financial pressure. This is why hard-hitting stories that expose malfeasance are either chronically underreported or suppressed. You don't want to piss off GM or Cargill.

Every national news outlet will go on for days when Marjorie Taylor Greene gets swatted or Lauren Boebert get caught being a pervert in public, but ongoing bomb threats of a public space used daily isn't as important? Home grown terrorism is a huge threat to the public. We all need to stay alert.

I remember this happening at NYPL once during my 16 years there. They called in a bomb threat & the branch was forced to cancel its summer reading club end of summer party. People are despicable.

It should be noted that the librarians who received these calls report that it seems the person was reading from a script. An important detail. This attack is neither isolated nor random. This is a coordinated attack on the seats of knowledge and community. Try and guess the aim behind it

It looks like the specific local outlets are covering it, but not MPR or the newspaper. Which is weird because it happened at libraries all over the state, all within a couple of days of each other. Which makes it a statewide story.

When the Heritage Library threat hit the news(Kare11) it didnt get noted that other libraries had threats too.
