If you’ve followed me for a long time, can you point me to something specific I’ve written, posted about, commented on that sticks out to you? Is there something specific that makes you think “that’s Chanea!” or “that’s Mrs. Bond!”?

You give so many gems while looking gorgeous af but the curation one is one I still use and share to this day. Your ability to create models for students is so amazing. Your willingness to coach and guide is 🤌🏽
On this note: how should we direct people to your work? FB? Here on Bluesky now?
I’m here in BS! I’m going through my tweets right now looking for gems to guide my newest project. I feel like a lot is already written, but I don’t know where to look! This helps!
I can’t find it but you also inspired me to do the activity myself to show as a model after and just doing it alongside reminded me how this is hard! And teaching it is hard! It was an important empathy lesson as well as pedagogically helpful
That activity you did with Their Eyes Were Watching God about if Janie had an appropriate sexuality
The “okay students, this is an argument you’re invested in, but let’s make sure we are grounded in the text and making logical arguments and defining our terms”
You make me think about my practice a lot, as a teacher, but the things you’ve shared about things like grief and your feelings about ND struggles have been…inspiring isn’t the right word, but feeling like I’ve experienced things that someone who inspires me by has also experienced is…something.
You posted about the poem, "Two-Headed Calf" and had people quote their takes on it, which I used to show my students how literature is open to interpretation. Great discussion. I think I used it two years in a row and would again if relevant to my class!
You work hard to improve your teaching, and you are extremely generous with your wisdom, experience, and work. You help teachers become better educators (if they are willing). I'm grateful to be in your digital classroom!
When I think of you I think: student centred practice, very cool , interesting and engaging course work, you care a great deal but hold your students accountable for their learning, and I’d love to be your student.
This answer won’t be helpful, but you have dropped so much gold on both platforms that I have a hard time finding anything that “sticks out.” I do remember a vid from a few years back involving a white blazer and a kid killing your vibe, but I can’t remember the details.
That’s right. One of my kids told me earlier this week that I looked like Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast because I was wearing a tannish shirt. She told me to take it as a compliment because both of us are awesome.
On Twitter a while back you posted about having students email families about their grades. I tried it out, and have been literally radicalized by it. So many amazing reflections, vulnerabilities, and honest growth from teenagers have come from this in ways that surprise me every time.
Not only has this basically eliminated any family complaints about grades or missing assignments, but it’s a critical way for families to be looped in when they can’t make it to conference night. And tons of parents have emailed directly to thank me for making their kid write the email.
Our school does this, including having kids run their own checkins with us and it’s lovely! It’s great to see your kids speak and present in a mode outside of the normal family dynamic.
Not 1 specific time, but I admire how u admit when u make mistakes or don't know something & demonstrate that u are interested in continuing to learn/grow & HOW u approach the learning. I think that's really important 2 model for young people as they start 2 become cognizant of what it means 2 learn
Honestly, what I best appreciate about you is your are willing to voice your frustrations unapologetically. Teaching is a hard gig. Sometimes, there is no sunshine to it. Hopefully the sun comes out again, but you don't always know that when it's raining. I am thankful for the honesty.
