I've never detected a sense of shame among legal organizations. They have just become more craven the older I got. Could the notion of professional pride within the justice system be another one of those myths we have to discard as we get older?

Indeed, one of the first things you should think of when turning to AI for some product you're trying to sell is what is the contribution that I am making to this? Because if it's just passing along what the AI produces, they can cut you out of the loop.

I passed the California bar in 2011 and I hadn't even heard about this debacle. Another story mentioned that due to all the refunds not to mention lawsuits, the State Bar won't even save any money off this. So it was all for nothing but at least we made a bunch of people miserable!

my dad writes articles for the local paper and has for 20+ years now. he's also a self-published author who's lost money on his self-published books. he could use an AI to do both of these things, but he doesnt because they give him purpose and it makes him happy. life was not made to be convenient

I am a professional assessment person. I've worked in the industry for 16 years everything from a writer to the manager of a team.

LLMs cannot do what we do. It's not possible and some content areas are way harder than others. I don't see how anyone could have thought this was a good idea.

The current debate over the ethics of AI points to a larger problem in our society: The value of everything is determined by it's price tag. Money has turned into points, and the way to win at life is to collect as many points as possible. Skill doesn't matter, because everything is marketing.
