Regretfully, Iβve taken down my feeders. We have HPAI in waterfowl around here and as I was considering whether or not to bring feeders in, some Canada geese and a seagull flew over. Iβm protecting my (sarcastic) Lab, who eats sunflower hulls under the feeders whenever she can.
It's about dawn here, so it's about time to put the Hummingbird feeders back out. It's 19 degrees right now, if I don't get them out before 1st light the Anna's Hummingbirds will divebomb me as I hang them. I'll be getting heat lamps out to keep feeders' warm tomorrow when high's supposed to be 29.
Little flying kamikazes. They will use every bit of energy to fight to keep a feeder all to themselves. I usually have 3 feeders out, situated so no feeder can be seen from another feeder. Today I'll put up a 4th feeder bc it's going to be colder & tomorrow will be worse w/ snow. They won't share.
Lucky you! All I have lately are flocks of chickadees. No big surprise as theyβre our provincial bird. Looking forward to hearing the morning bird choruses soon!
The male bluebirds in my neighborhood look just as fat and happy! Lots of feeders and houses to nest in, and about 3 females for every male! Thatβs why they are smiling!
No here yet, but thereβs lots of kerfuffle around the feeders and playful chasing! Typically they have that pissed off look but not here because Iβm in a new subdivision with small trees and lots of open space so they have no predators around.

I heard a blackbird trill yesterday and thought... Yes! Spring is on its way.
