I'd like to think that it was a new beginning, they ascended together and now their trans dimensional selves will unite in a higher plane of consciousness.
And preventable. That’s what kills me the most. Everyone believes wealth will protect you from the horrors we put our elderly through but it just makes it look nicer from the outside. They had no one checking on them with regularity. :(
I think the assumption would be that she was young (comparatively) and healthy, so if he went downhill or she could no longer care for him, she'd of course let the family and others know.
Agreed, but it’s that assumption that hurts so many. It’s just so sad. And it means there was no one else but her, which is a gamble that, in hindsight, proved fatal.
True. But I also don't want to assume. We don't know if they had people who checked in but, for whatever reason, didn't that week, or if they skipped a housecleaning or whatever. We don't know if the kids were on vacation or simply got busy with life. It's just...haunting.
They say she was dead two weeks before they were found. It seems no one was checking on them or helping her with Gene, the house, or the dogs. With their means, I'd generally expect someone, a nurse, housecleaner, or staff, to have discovered them sooner. Hantavirus is so odd, too. It’s so tragic.
You don't need to worry about that, with RFK Jr running the department of health and human services there's much worse things coming right around the corner. 🤗
Sad ending to a long love story. Everyone wants to be self sufficient, but anyone caring for someone with Alzheimer's needs a LOT of help. Just so sad.
