For sure - a lot of shocked pain and disbelief from them, and much "when did this ep come out? Two weeks ago???". But the AI arc is holding up pretty well, too. We basically just need some kind of a vengeance demon sighting somewhere to score the full triple.

For me, even after the respect had been undermined, I still thought of him as a particularly hardcore libertarian true-believer, someone whose ideological compass basically didn't waver. So, twice over, I didn't see this coming.

Same. I always knew he was a few ticks to my right, but still, Mr. 14th Amendment seemed in many admirable respects a more principled classical liberal than those far to my right off in Lost Cause-ism. But now he's basically indistinguishable from them. He might as well be wearing a Hoppe t-shirt.
