The effect is really cool from a GameDev perspective, we're all geeking out about how it's done lol
But I would be careful not to overuse it - if every room in the dungeon is as small as the ones in the gif and the transition happens between each one it could become a bit too much
the user always expects a level transition when they walk into a door, so from my perspective that's not the component that will become too much, however they could get annoyed going through many rooms that don't have anything new in them many times
Looks pretty nice, but if the actual rooms are that small you might want to speed it up. Breaks the flow of gameplay a bit for the transition to take as long as it does to travel a room.
on and off for just over a year! I've been mainly focusing on systems for a long time so I haven't done much content like this until now... there's still a lot of systems to work on though haha
Pretty cool, I would only change the background color when transitioning. Instead of going black, blending between previous room background color and next room background color.
