Not a bad idea. I recently discovered that border agents have the right to search your phone; you can't refuse to give them access to it - meaning you have to unlock it for them, and showing any reluctance/resistance simply increases their suspicion.

I love Quebec but unfortunately I will not be able to travel anywhere outside of the US, I’m afraid that they will find a way to keep me out of to put me in a detention camp since I’m a naturalized citizen. Unless I decide to make it a one way ticket and never to return, which has been in my mind

Once again, the reason that the person was held is because CBP suspected her of intending to violate her visa by working in the country, of which there was ample evidence. While she should not have been detained this long under any circumstance, nothing about this case is new, novel, or unusual.

Unbelievable! While I live 20 minutes north of this facility, I had no idea this happened. Kudos to KPBS for the story. They are under threat by the Trump admin to pull funding from Public Broadcasting Service but are equally funded by private individuals . Endowments and local philanthropy.
