I was blown away by Verdict of Twelve. It’s like (properly) Marxist Agatha Christie, able to get both the fine character points and the greater social forces. A real refutation of the Golden Age “murder as middle class parlour game”.

Picked them up at Bodies in the Bookshop earlier. Cracked open “Verdict for Twelve” on the bus home just as the bus went past the road mentioned on the first page.
