Linkedin's algorithm unfortunately rewards these kinds of posts.
The value is pretty much zero but there is still a small conversion that is enough to keep them motivated.
Or some people just want attention.
I guess the challenge it finding a way to be a sustainable platform and avoid seemingly inevitable enshitification.
I'm skeptical of anyone adding "Xk+ LinkedIn family" (where X is integer) in their description and commenting on my posts with irrelevant comments (or looks like AI generated).
There are few LI questions that doesn't make sense, not sure of other domains but at least cloud security. Trying to add my thoughts after painstaking effort for these Qs, found that some folks get away with AI generated content. Then I gave up.

With more visibility, more followers, and with more followers more chances to reach whatever goal of selling something they have.
I'm not justifying the behavior, I want to make it clear.
People are obsessed with internet numbers - rank, followers, count and etc since beginning of the Internet.
That.. and the dude has 14 AI startups, he's *gotta* use AI. He's like the inventive father in Honey I Shrunk The Kids.
But let me reproduce it, feeding my post to ChatGPT and ask it for a response to “drive engagement.” It generates eerily similar
It boggles my mind why people would use auto-generated replies on socials. I seriously don’t understand it.
i started reporting people like this but linkedin never removes them. it’s just a numbers game for them now
