It is really chilling and a huge soul-ache to grasp that hundreds of millions more are going to develop chronic disease because of COVID infections, contracted in the current scenario of chaotic-to-nil infection prevention and control in many places where people congregate : hospitals, schools...

Although significant progress has been made since 2018 – particularly the much improved 2021 NICE Guideline and far more helpful and sympathetic media coverage – it is frustrating to reflect on how little has changed with regard to services and understanding of pathophysiology.
