I don't want to claim Giuliani did nothing good or whatever as mayor, but the reduction in crime was a national phenomenon rather than NYC specific. The reason for the drop is still disputed heavily, but imo Giuliani doesn't really deserve his rep as a guy who definitely made NYC safer.

I think refusing to remove Adams if he starts cooperating with mass deportation would drop her re-election chances to near zero. Hopefully she realizes this. Self-interest sometimes wins over incompetence.
